There was a time in the past when the San Fernando Valley was largely rural. This looks like a pleasant drive in the countryside.

Those people were so lucky to have lived in the valley then.

I grew up there in in 60’s and 70’s. It was the best place on earth.

Wow! We used to travel on this road from Pacoima to Santa Susana (now known as Simi Valley) which led us to traveling on the Santa Susana Pass Road over the mountains to visit my Grandparents who lived near Tapo Canyon & Los Angeles streets back in the mid to late 50’s. Thanks for posting.

In 1964 I bought a brand new 3 bedroom house near Tapo and Los Angeles for $16,500. Great house with a huge lot. I sold it a few years later because the rush hour trip over the Santa Susana Pass usually took 1 1/2 to 2 hours each way. Everyone worked in the S. F. Valley because there were no jobs in the Simi Valley. The 118 freeway was finished years later and changed everything. One little "nit pick", Devonshire is a street not a boulevard

At 1:58 on the right the open door of a garage comes into view. That is the home of Lucy Ball & Desi Arnaz at CANOGA Av & Devonshire St from 1941 till they moved to Beverly Hills.

It's where Egremont School is today, at Devonshire and Oakdale. And years ago when I was on the Edgremont school, the pool, I was told, was the Ball/Arnaz pool that still did exist.

In the early 60s when President Kennedy was promoting 50 mile walks my brother and I walked along Devonshire and I’m pretty sure it looked like that most of the way I could be wrong though it was a long time ago

I remember farms and orange groves in Orange County in the 60’s. You could smell the orange blossoms at night. I still remember
