In this video, I'm making journal card to put in the pockets we made the other day for the Golden Book Journals. I'm using some fun images from vintage magazines. A unique touch for these journals. My shop: www.etsy.com/s...

These are really fun! I'm totally jealous of your decision making ability! I just take forever

Practice!! Dont overthink. Just make a decision. Walk away and come back to it. Or paper clip or pin in place and come back to it. Sometimes I think something just looks like something the cat dragged in but if I come back to it later I think hmmm i kinda diggin it! I have ripped up things and then later came back and thought dad gum...that didnt look so bad.

Love the vintage images! Where did you get those darling pink and white scissors?
@DianeHubertPrettyPinkCottage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Suzanne. I think I got the scissors at Walmart. They are Fiskars. I've had them for a few years now. I love them.

LOL. Off with her head! Those 50's - 60's magazine images are fun and perfect for that authentic vintage look, but the paper can be so fragile to work with. Glad you managed to save it, without too much effort. It turned out well. Thanks for finding a few mins to play. I needed to unwind before hitting the pillow and I enjoyed watching you create these.

If you have a printer scanner you can scan images and print them and work with the copy. If you own the copy of the original no copyright issues for your personal use.

@@impalamama7302 Thanks. Unable to use mine at the moment so, I'll just have to set up my new computer...after xmas maybe. I scored an auction lot of old Women's Weekly mags - the newspaper variety - they'd be best scanned. It's just that time of year...so much to do, so little time. LOL.

@@leandavm8626 omg Yes! I bought an epson ecotank printer memorial day and havent gotten out of box yet as I wanted to move a bed out of my daughters old room and turn that into my craft room....havent had one in 27 years since i was pregnant with her....different house though. So much been going on I still havent gotten a round tuit lol. I found some old National Geographics i had in my attic that i thought i got rid of 10 years ago. @@impalamama7302 I've had one of those on my wish list...a scan and cut looks good, too, but soooo expensive here in Australia.

Weed@@leandavm8626 the scan and cut?? We had to replace our old epson printer so i talked my son into getting the Epson. New to paper crafting...i have to save my shekels to buy washi tape and stamps off wish app lol! But I have an attic full of vintage books music needlework quilts and all kinds of fabric buttons beads and paper ephemera lol

I love the vintage look-------Am always on the lookout for these mags! Before gluing to something glossy, just run a piece of sandpaper across it-----or sanding block, or nail file---- :)

I have going through my stash of old garden magazines from the 1990s through the 2000s. I have found that the images of even newer magazines nake wonderful journal cards and tags ..i rub a emery board over them and use distress ink or gesso them with homemade gesso and they look quite lovely and have a vintage vibe....espwciallt with the photos or old fashioned flowers that are my faves! I miss the days when my kids were in Christmas programs at church. But no grandkids yet sigh. You sound like you do Flylady too!
