Hey Marc, cool project! I did something similar with my KSG625 w/ output transformers. Let’s compare notes!

I'd love to see how you managed the Solo/Mute bussing, and any other bussing that you added to the original channels. Very impressive work; I remember seeing this console for sale and wondering how someone would go about rebuilding it.

Luckily she is a musician too. Not so much into equipment, but she understands our love for gear and supports it.😃

Great work! Im glad to see an old console come back to life. A vido on your In/Out and Meter driver PCB design would be very helpful for my console restoration. Take care!

Really impressive man.Over the years I've seen these consoles and wondered why they were much cheaper than other desks. It sounds fantastic. Wish I had your skills.

Nice project - My unfinished modded KSG625 is 18 into 6 into 2 with 6 eq's and 1 limiter. I am also using 3 Neumann PSVE''s for 4 aux and main stereo summing.

Loved this video. I'm rebuilding a yamaha mixer now. This video is a great example of what can be accomplished with a bit of modernization. Please make additional videos on the boards added, and level marching technology. Please include power supply.

Good luck with your Yamaha mixer! 👍 I plan more videos where I will go more into detail, especially how to design your own power supply.

Great project! But most likely there are problems with the VU meter. This is a stereo (not balanced) connection, and at the same time the VU has a phase shift when the signals at the stereo input are unbalanced. Mono VU meters would be better. They are more expensive, but the accuracy and independence of measurement is better. Good luck!

Holy shit dude!! Like wow, you've got some skill man, I would love to hear more details, like diving in more on the electronic parts you had to get, and where you found them. and maybe just some deeper explanations on your electronic builds. I just bought a Tascam M50 from the 80s and want to do exactly what you did here basically. I am obsessed with everything 70s, and have been chasing that era of sonics for years. I found out that my desk is a transformer-less design after I bought it, but I really Digg it, I am just thinking about adding trans to every channel. To make it sound more seventies.

Great work Mark! I recently bought a Siemens C4 without power supply and I intend to build a proper PSU for that beast. May I ask for your advice? Thanks.

Oh great desk! Congratulations! I plan videos about more technical stuff and also how to design your own PU. :)

Nice! Wie hast du die EQs gebaut?
@MarcHerwig3 ай бұрын
Die EQs sind Teil des originalen Pultes. Die habe ich so gelassen und nur restauriert (also neue Caps, Schalter gereinigt…)
