I have been prepping many old bikes for resale lately on the cape (salt air) and my recommendation so far is 120 grit sandpaper from palm sanders. I think the palm sander paper has a more durable backing. I run through from each side and different angles, so several passes. It sounds brutish but spokes are so narrow and not flat so they really don’t look as rough as you would think. Looks way better than rust anyway.

@@tlister67 sounds good. I'll definitely give that a try. That salt air is brutal on these bikes. I think this batch of bikes (the blue diamond back, Miyata mtb, this and a Head bike I've yet to post) came from coastal Connecticut hence the above average rust.

Great save, I love the color on that one, that's actually a great bike just before they went to walmart, what will you get for that one in your neck of the woods

I like the color, too. It's a good quality hybrid, not too far off from the specialized I recently posted. This was part of a batch of bikes that included the old Miyata, blue diamond back, and rusty head. This was in the best condition of all four.

Found a 1996 with green/blue fade the other day that is in almost unridden condition. Three light storage marks or it would be near mint. Even the stirrups are perfect. $20 with my thrift coupon. The bike main frame is chromoly 4130 only. The bike is not double butted. No big deal, but that does lessen the value as does what mongoose is associated with now. I listed it, but might keep it. Eh. Midish eighties Bianchi Grizzly is my regular rider.

I have this bike. Its front wheel is damaged and wants to be replaced. Does anyone know where I can wheel details and buy it?
@stockton3502 ай бұрын
@@chandrakantshinde606 it's a 700c wheel. Maybe see if your local bike store has a used front wheel?
