Got a bit of 'faded old jeans' about it. Looks great!

Mate that is a peach of a bike 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻. Definitely no need for the re-anodising. It looks brilliant.

The red Judy’s went with the red anodized cranks. Awesome find . Nice to see how popular the GT Zasker frames still are.

That came out GREAT. As you've already said, it's so good that you did not get it re-anodized.

I love my 1998 GT Zaskar. I also have a modern gravel bike, but the Zaskar is just the sweet spot for everything bumpy and jumpy.

I purchased a frame from my local dealer in 98 and assembled a bike and have been riding it ever since. My frame is a lighter blue in color but has kept the finish and color over the years. Has been used and abused and well maintained. GREAT BIKE!

Nice work! I totally remember when these came out. The ball burnished came with the yellow Judy fork, if I recall. This one, the super cool blue, was the dream XC bike! Couldn’t tell at first from the fading but this is super cool to see. Thanks for doing this!

I can confirm the strange mix of early 90s parts on a 94 frame.. the zaskar le was £478 for the bare frame that year and that was the plain ball burnished one... so we had to cut costs for our initial build and recycle a few parts..lovely refurb dude

I just bought a like new 2006-2007 GT Zaskar Expert 26" wheels, Rock Shox Recon 327 forks, Deore components. Black gloss paint with Red pin stripping. If Batman rode a bike, it would be this bike. It's wicked light and really fun to ride.

Nice one 😁👍👌

Absolutely awesome. Pity about getting it re-anodised. I picked up a GT Karakoram, full DEORE LX group set but the shifters were destroyed internally. It was only $20 , but like yourself finding these parts on e-bay or the like is almost impossible and when they do appear the prices are highway robbery! I decided to go with a full grit blasting and repaint of the Tange 4130 steel frame.
@ttxxdd Жыл бұрын
I just picked one up - it’s the same exact frame as yours, exact same decals (competition series etc) and everything. But it’s ano purple! Has mismatched xt/xtr bits

Had one of these in black in the mid 90s. Had normal forks no suspension. Brakes were Magura HS22, Middleburn crank then I think the rest of the groupset was XT. Can't remember the wheels exactly but think they were Mavic. Know it's what they were designed for but was a fast bike.

Wow, ive got an early 90`s Zaskar LE in the shed, havent rode it for about 7 years. I`m 59, used it to ride back and forth work about 8 miles each way back in the late 90`s, not every day, too unfit for that lol....Was considering adding a rear wheel electric hub and making a good ebike out of it. Might have changed my mind now. Are these collectors bikes now? Mine is in silver with yellow / red zalker decals, or no colour, just aluminium.

Yes. Arguably the most collectible of all the GT retro bikes and worth good money if original.
