Steve and Josh great to see you both flying, I miss my days on the slope with you. I have an unbuilt Thing kit I bought after flying Josh's Thing on Manmoel about 2 years ago amazing glider wouldn't come down. All the best from N Ireland

I was lucky enough to find a SAS thing Kit and have just finished building her, went for direct drive Aileron's two servos. Just waiting for a Blow for the Maiden.

Still got mine. I loved it. I sloped it and then put a .40 in it... so much fun.

I think you are correct, I have one myself from the 1980s that i have recently got out the loft and recovered to make a comeback to this lovely hobby, still with its SMAE sticker on the fin. Obechi veneered foam wings with ply fuselage sides and balsa fin and elevons and the servo slider try pre electronic mixers. Used to be a lovely flyer, but i expect i am a bit rusty now. How things have changed from the old Skyleader and Digifleet days and now you have to sit an exam before you can fly them. Still i have passed that so will hopefully be out there soon. Keep up the good videos, very enjoyable. Regards Chris.

Hi Robert. The majority of my flying is done in the valleys of SE Wales 🏴 Here is a link to where we were flying the Thing yesterday. Manmoel Rd maps.app.goo.gl/EP7aWwyLjFqKV2Yx5?g_st=ic

I used to have a power Thing I flew it to death. Then later bought a 1.2 mtr Cygnus which I later cut down the wings and stuck a OS 25 FSR in it Feel the need for speed. BTW you can still buy the sas models including the Thing from NJR Modeling www.youtube.com/@njrmodelling
