So, my vintage Panasonic RX5150 had a lack of high end frequency on the right side , which was only evident when playing back recordings made on the deck. Radio and line-in was fine. I discovered that the right track on the head had a little mark or scuff on it. I had initially wanted to remove the head and lap it like a pro, but I'm not a pro and i was worried that pulling the head off may get me into more trouble in the long run. So I've done it while the head was still on the machine. This was actually not as difficult as i had expected and was quite interesting going at it for the first time. I have rambled on while doing this video but its more of a "show and tell" experience rather than an instructional video. I'm sure the experts will point out my lack of knowledge and demand i never touch vintage gear ever again. 😂 Despite my lack of fancy equipment I think it has turned out pretty good for my efforts. I may have another crack at it down the road when i have more tools and knowledge, but for the most part I'm happy with the sound playback and that's all that counts for now. Hope you enjoy the video and I'm open for criticism and/or questions.
