Vintage Pattern Haul || $60 bought me HOW MANY patterns?

Facebook Marketplace comes through yet again to provide enough vintage sewing patterns to entertain me for the next few decades. For $60, see how many patterns I picked up, and I share some my favorites (and some of the silliest ones).
I can't wait to crack into these and sew myself some new items for my wardrobe. Zoot suit pants, anyone??

I’m at amazed at the cost of new patterns. 18$ for tissue paper, but these are so awesome. Great find.

I know, right?! I'll spend $18 for a digital pattern I can reprint infinite times, but typically I don't buy tissue paper patterns unless they're on sale at joann's (or in large lots like this one)!

It's not just the tissue. It's paying people to come up with the pattern. People to write instructions. People to grad the pattern up and down. McCall's for example says Designed and printed in the USA. Not some third world country that is paying slave labour.

My sister came to visit last month and brought a huge HUGE bin of my mother's pattern collection that she finally decided to part with. There's two more bins that didn't fit in her car. But going through them has been interesting. There's many of my pattern from the late 70's (she saved everything) when I started sewing in high school and tons of 50'-60's patterns that back in the day were ordered from community newspapers on women's days!!!! I think it was Wednesday or Thursday. The next bin is arriving sometime mid May. I've already made two blouses from the 50's that were interesting in that hardly any directions were avail. And boy oh boy did women ever wear garments synched in at the waisted back in the day. I did alot of tapering out and eliminating waist darts and tucks not to mention lengthening 2-3". One direction was kinda comical "a metal closing device" aka zipper.

Even if the garments are stylish now, I think there's something so cool about going through the process of making these vintage patterns. I'm definitely a little jealous that you have so many to choose from!

Great patterns! I got an old box of patterns years ago. Among them was a vintage clown costume pattern. I don't know if I'll ever make it, but I love it.

I have about 1,000 patterns from the 70s and 80s that I’ve been slowly putting on eBay. A few 60s and a few 90s too. They’re from an old sewing shop that had been put to storage in the 90s. So 99% of them are factory folded. I’m trying to figure out the best way to put them up for sale. I’m starting to mark them with any people I see make something from them on KZbin. Do you think that’s ok? Like in the description of my listing I put “pattern seen on X’s KZbin channel, in video X”. How would you look for patterns grouped together if you were searching eBay for patterns?

I think adding a note if there's a video about it is a neat idea! Unless I have a specific pattern I'm looking for, typically I like to browse the bigger lots of patterns because it feels like I'm getting a mystery box! Grouping together pants, shirts, dresses may draw the most attention but I'd take a look at what's sold recently to see what direction you should go when listing them.
