I've bought and used day-to-day a few of these early Pelikans. Their nibs are the star element of the pen's design/manufacture and the overall appearance is wonderful, too. I was hoping we'd see the step-by-step disassembly as I have to work on a later Pelikan "M400" from the early 80's that a friend gave me. Perhaps there's a restoration video in the Grandmia "library." Off to do a search! Thank you for posting this tour of a fully-restored example of the line!

I have only just got one of these. It’s an OBB tortoiseshell and super lovely. It says Gunther Wagner Pelikan Germany around the barrel by the piston.

Another nice review Stef. That is a nice looking vintage pen from the 1950's. I acquired one some months back, a typical green striped 400 model made in 1955. They are very nice pens.

Do you have a video for the piston disassembly process? I have the same pen in green with an OBB and I love it! The piston knob is a bit loosey goosey and I want to fix that

Stef, How did you discover that it is a screwed nib ?

By being very careful. Soaking the nib and treating it as a friction fit nib by slightly turning it. Thanks
