Jesus I dreamed about this rack and this gear when I was 15 and used to go to the shop. Much to expensive for me at this time. Super design. I bought the HPM60, SA8500 (II), SG9800 and the CTF-700 instead. Very nice too. The amp and the equal are still running in my living-room (40 years). That was quality!!

Impressive! Definitely makes the gear look the part!! You've got to hand it to Pioneer, they made impressive looking decks! 1:29 & 3:57 : I'd add a couple of pieces of cork appropriately cut to size between the devices to help support their weight at the back and avoid the cantilever effect that can result into bending the faceplates because of the weight or gouging them due to the excessive stress applied to them by the screws. If you're worried the cork will tarnish the case finish, you can add a piece of felt in between the cork and the device. You can thank me (or not) 20 years later! ; ) 2:44 You'll bend your wheels permanently if you do that too often. I sincerely doubt the caster wheels' supporting rods can take this much weight without deforming. Plus (2:46) you run the risk of the whole rack slipping forward by accident if you accidentally tilt backwards momentarily by mistake - but that, of course, depends on its weight and your strength and alertness at the time!

Absolutely beautiful i bet it sounds awesome, i had all black seperates in the late 80s and 90s now its just AV recievers and Blu-ray players that do it all. I cant have both although i would love just a music room and i would try to find all the stuff i had. I had the most fantastic Maranz graphic equalizer spectrum analyser with a beautiful display, my house was burgled and i lost the lot but luckily we was insured and i just had to go get the stuff again pain in the ass though. But it was a nice feeling shopping for hifi seperates again lol.

Very nice. Did Pioneer have any advisements about ventilation for the amp? Looks like there’s a small area for ventilation around the amp, but more ventilation wouldn’t hurt. Wondering if mounting the amp on the top most position would be preferable to give a little more breathing room. Heat can be one of the worst enemies for electronics.

@ST No, I was not asking about protecting the tuner from heat. Any metal that encases a tuning unit in a tuner is to shield RF, not heat.

Already beautiful. If there were aluminium panel covers on both sides of the rack it would be more beautiful. Most equipment don't need ventilation on the sides, right?

The entire weight of every equipment is held by the front panel. Do the cabins sag with the passage of time? Especially the amplifiers which are pretty heavy owing to transformers. I've never seen this kind of rack in real and this is one question which I wanted to ask everytime I saw one.

Hi it's a good question and no they don't sag at all, don't forget, that front panels are thick aluminium and chassis is made of sheet metal. very sturdy indeed. Generally all rack systems are designed very sturdy, some of them have also rail at the back so you can screw equipment to front and back.

You can mount it in, but you have to take a wood cover off as it would not fit.
