I finally put a few brain cells to it and discovered multiple Czechoslovakian sources stating that Skirlinska got 4th in the all-around at the 1938 World Championships. It was interesting...at least one source mentioned *only* her, in addition to the 3 Czechoslovakian all-around medalists, as if to also point out her accomplishment, specifically. So...3rd in the AA at the 1934 Worlds, 4th in the AA at the next Worlds, but 40th (!!!) at the interceding 1936 Olympics, with all scores significantly far away from the highest scorers - sounds very questionable. From what little I have read of her, she seems to have had a distinguished post-competitive life as a coach and judge at numerous World Championships and Olympics. I am editing this now to say that I thought I remembered reading that she held a position at Jagiellonian University, but a brief survey of hits rendered on a Google search I just conducted didn't yield any confirmation of that.

Wow that's amazing. A Skirlinska appears in the results of the 1950 Worlds so I wondered if she tried a comeback. Your ability to find this stuff out is amazing.
