WD 40 will gum up the works. Only use clock oil always. Looks like his frist clock.

I agree. I left out the part where I cleaned the WD40 out with the Super HFD electronics cleaner, that domed top spray comtainer next to the water glass. This stuff I use to bring sensitive electronic controls back to the original dry surface before using the spray amd stay. The latter product is used also to clean and lubricate electronic controls and is nothing like the ordinary WD40, a bit of an experiment, but I believe it will not break down.

@@i82996 It's best to use a chlorinated solvent heated to 180F in the ultrasonic and only use clock oil.

I think your heart is in the right place, but this was hard to watch. Any beginners watching this video: please learn how to properly repair an antique clock. This was wrong in so many ways......
