Vintage Selle Italia Turbo 1980's Bicycle Saddle Restoration - Retfurb Vintage Refurb

In this video I take a tired looking suede covered Selle italia Turbo bike seat and give it an overhaul. We will remove the old suede covering and replace it with a new piece of black leather. Once this is completed, We will then add some fresh new decals to finish off the repair restoration.

The Selle Italia Turbo saddle was first introduced in 1980 and has many different variations throughout the years.
It is now considered an iconic bicycle component and sought after for many retro & vintage bike builds.
Lets see if we can restore it back to its former glory......

Nice work!!. I have a couple questions. I just got a Selle Italia Turbo Bio saddle but the material is Nylon. The material is all loose and saggy because of the glue being old, I need to re-glue the material again. I wanted to ask you what kind of adhesive should I use, as the material (Nylon) has some white areas? I don't want the glue to stain the white areas. Also I wanted to ask you where can I get those turbo stickers? Thanks

Thank you. Its really appreciated. Nice seat. you can still use the spray glue, But I would apply it in thinner coats. You can also just apply it to the seat base and not the covering. Allowing enough time for the adhesive to tack over, So it doesn't bleed through the material. If its wet, you run the risk of the glue bleeding through the material. Obviously, Brush on contact adhesive can also be used. But I always find that it goes lumpy easily. If you want to do a test first, See if you can find a scrap piece of nylon similar to the seat. (probably easier said than done). If it almost feels tacky to touch, Then it should be fine. I make all the decals myself. Send me an email if you would like some.

@@oscarrobles3449 I use spray glue from screwfix, Which is their own brand 'NO NONSENSE'. You can also use 'IMPACT' branded glue. [e-mail]
