Wow. Now I know where all of Bill Leeb’s synths went. All these dandies in one place, and in Los Angeles, no less. I hope he has stellar security measures. Addendum: did you guys do everything free or through a clock sync?

Yeah - I was in Bill & Rhys studio at Slack Studios in Vancouver - 2 blocks from Nettwerk records a few times back in the 90's. They had a room full of synths and modules - Matrix-12, all sorts of stuff - was awesome. I think Rhys took all his stuff and not sure where Bill's gear ended up - probably just sold locally.

@@johnnymorgansynthdreams It was. It was a kind of tongue-in-cheek musing, but I remember having seen listed around 2006 a whole slew of synth dandies advertised on eBay as “owned by Bill Leeb”. I was really perplexed as to why he would unload such a premium collection, and I was told here and there that there were two reasons. Apparently, the synths he had - an OSCar and Matrix-12 among them - could only be serviced in California, and the shipping and import/export costs were prohibitive. The other reason, I heard, was that he was paying for a very expensive divorce, but I never pried into it because I consider it a private matter and not my business. My heart goes out to him if it’s the case.

Being abble to put your fingers on a CS80 is worth the trip. And yes, Bliter, it's synth porn.

Gawd, I've only just started watching this, and what's the first thing I see!? A Casio AX-1 hanging up in the window. I still have mine - Lord only knows why, as it hasn't worked since 1996. Edit: I'm nearly at the end now. When the Mellotron came on, it practically oozed Strawberry Fields Forever before a note was even played. I was starting to think there was something wrong with it, as the notes we were hearing were a fourth below what was being played - until I saw the pitch knob. Much was explained. This place looks quite similar to what I imagine Heaven must be like!

It really is Craig - you have to visit if you get a chance. There's so much there it would take weeks just to get to everything.

You're referring to the European Union's Strategic Synthesizer Reserve, embedded deep in a mountain in Switzerland. In case of environmental catastrophe, those beauties will be preserved so we can rebuild.
