Vintage T-Shirt DRY ROT Demonstration Guns N Roses Coma

www.defunkd.co... This is a dry-rotted deadstock true vintage Guns N Roses t-shirt from 1992. Sadly it can be torn like paper.
This happens when certain black inks become fiber corrosive over time if the garment is never washed.
A moment of silence please, this t-shirt gave its life for this demonstration.

I had a dry rot shirt that was ripped, super thin. I washed it and hung dry it- I made sure to wash it with laundry soap and doing it several times has seemed to bring it back to life somewhat. I will include that i haven’t worn it as I’m still washing it and lightly drying every so often. But when I do wear it I’ll be sure to be careful. I can’t speak for every dry rot shirt but mine was super thin

The correct term is sulfur rot. The acid that you refer to is the acidity level the shirt has reached. The process of eliminating the sulfur has variables that can not be determined until the ph test is completed. Once completed and then the level is assessed then the process may continue. Even after that there is still a risk involved as strength of the fibers can not be measured. It’s becomes a crap shoot at that point. The process is relatively expensive as the equipment to complete the process on is not something that can be duplicated in someone’s garage or basement. It’s simple chemistry. There are chemicals that will react with the sulfur and once the machine does its job then one of two things would happen. This is not a milk bath or a hair conditioner shower soak. Lol. This is pure chemistry that was discovered by a clean air chemist with the assistance of little old me. Have you seen sulfur rise to the surface of a solution? The solution is the key. I do not own the solution or any patents. I have tried it 3 times and twice was successful. It has to be a shirt that’s worth it like a rap tee , master p ice cream man.
