how have you removed the slot without any damage? normally you destroy them to not break the circuit underneath by overheating and build in a new card slot which is not easy to order.

I used a regular desoldering pump. I'm very experienced with it, so it was relatively straightforward. I did however have to put one pin back because I accidentally pulled it out after I desoldered the slot :D
