Honestly the KZbin matchbox and Hot wheels restoration thing has exploded so much that it is refreshing to watch this restoration, something a little different

I agree. It's been a bit nuts with so many channels popping up. I'm going to try and mix it up a bit.

Woo hoo So glad to see you back in the restoration business. You have been missed. That Tonka turned out great. I can't believe the transformation, especially as rusty as it was. That's something that any child would cherish. I hope you're staying safe, along with your family and your friends.

It's great to see a toy from my childhood brought back to life and used for its intended purpose. It's a toy, not a shelf item I had a toy cement mixer, and I could've sworn it was a Tonka , but the cement mixer turned when you pushed it...

Nice job on the Tonka, just for my own education, I'm curious as to why you didn't paint the underside of the chassis and polish up the axles and protect with a clear coat? I'm still learning, so I have lots of questions. Thanks
@WheelsNThangs4 жыл бұрын
Wanted to keep it as close to original as possible. Originally the underside just has some overspray and the axles aren't polished.

Great job with this one. Your last Tonka build got me to finish my Jeeps which were actually Tootsie but the same scale I had mentioned doing it on your other build if you would like to see them I made a short video on my channel. I can’t wait to see your dump truck and I have few more Tonka and Tootsie build coming myself which have come from inspiration on your now two builds

To remove stickers, you can use a product called "Essence F" in french, don't know the name in english It removes glue, stickers, and lot of stains without corrupt plastic like acetone or other product. It can be useful to wash the glass, better than soapy water.

I assume this is an actual busted and rusted up model from years of neglect unlike those FK8s and Bugatti Chiron die cast models from other channels which are probably faked for the video.
@WheelsNThangs4 жыл бұрын
It is genuine. I’ve seen those videos and thought the same thing. For some reason they are quite popular.
