Great teardown video! Maybe you should take apart a Xbox or PlayStation

Plenty of heatsink compound so it would never dry out, and it did certainly do it's job well.

I have this exact laptop, I love it. It's just at that sweet spot where it's not too fast for early 90s games and not too slow for early 3D games. What's wrong with yours? Also you're playing russian roulette with that screen. All of these older screens have a little bit of mercury in them which isn't a problem unless the screen is cracked, like yours. Handling it with your bare hands is tempting fate really.

I decided to part it out Because the screen was broken and it didn’t post. I have a very similar Toshiba pentium 2 laptop that is in good condition that I will be keeping. To my understanding, it’s not the screen panel that contains mercury. Rather it’s the small isolated fluorescent light tube that inside the bottom of the screen for the backlight that contains Mercury vapors. It could break while taking apart the Panel itself or if the screen was bent hard enough to break the tube. But In this case it was probably intact. If the screen was damaged any worse I would have taken more precautions. However I will be more careful in the future.
