Mrs. Cog - What wonderful garden journals! Your imagination & creativity is always inspiring for me. The last 2 days have been amazing for my heart & creativity. I so enjoyed watch you with your daughter yesterday. It reminded me of time my daughter & I spent together when Harry Potter books were released. Taylor, must have been about 8 at the time & read at an early age but once she began reading Harry Potter - Taylor's reading took by leap's & bounds as did her imagination. We would sit together in the evenings talk about the world of Harry Potter. It was so delightful & fun. Your video brought back treasured memories from long ago. As always I thank you for sharing your incredible creativity & reminding me of the importance of imagination & magic in our lives.

I always love your journals and gardening is special for me. I only have a very little garden, but I plant every year tomatoes, potatoes and tons of flowers for the bees and other pollinators. Sunflowers, wildflowers, blooming perennials and herbs. I have some aphids but it doesn't bother me, they are food for lady bugs and wasps and ants. And I also have rain worms and all kinds of bugs. We also have some hornets. I don't use chemicals. What grows, that grows and if not, I don't mind. 😊 Thank you for always sharing your beautiful creations and thoughts and tips 💕

Beautiful journals. Very garden inspiring. Thank you for sharing Sara Midda's books. I looked them up and found Midda is an active author. Does keeping the pages together allow us to use her books? in junk journaling? Thank you.
@MrsCog5 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Her books are current and still under copyright. In the USA, "the first sale doctrine" says that a book we physically own may be used/disposed of (page by page or groups of pages into a journal if we wish) any way we want. Copyright doesn't apply here as no copies are being made. :-)
@beingwoman58175 жыл бұрын
Thank you for explaining this, good to know. I kind of thought that was it. But I didn't quite understand or not understand the laws of copyright. So keeping their work intact is the key. Again thank you for sharing your work and those who inspire you.

These are so beautiful!! What kind of printer do you have?
@MrsCog5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Senya. I use different printers for different jobs. For color images such as the downloads from my shop and in my courses, I always use an inkjet printer and print them onto bright white card stock 65 lb. (175 gsm). Some crafters prefer photo matte paper. It's really a matter of personal preference. To print quotes and digi stamps onto regular copy paper before I tea dye it, I use a laser printer. Laser printers use toner applied with heat rather than a liquid ink, so it doesn't run when I get the pages wet when tea dyeing them. Here is the link to my blog where I list the types of printers I have and their ink refills. mrscogs.blogspot.com/p/tools-materials.html

Beautiful journals Liz. Someone mentioned below that they ordered your journals on eBay? Are you selling them there now? Can you tell me what your new camera equipment is?
@MrsCog5 жыл бұрын
Hi Cj, the person referenced ordering the small "In and Out of the Garden" books that I bought on Ebay and took apart to sew into these journals. I am not selling my creations on Ebay. :-) My new camera set up is an iPhone XS which upgraded me from the stone age into the future. I went from a 16GB phone to a 256 GB phone and the camera... It's camera has more pixels than regular iPhoneX and it combines it's regular lens and telephoto lens with new software (for both video and still pics) to give a completely different experience. It has baked my noodle, I am in awe of it... and completely inept at using it... but I shall endure and tackle this too lol. Big hugs! :-)

Mrs Cog yes the picture quality is gorgeous. Yes just about any new phone would send me into the twilight zone. I use to train computer programs and now I have become a mental midget. Might have to look into the that phone, just as a camera. My geek of a girlfriend can figure it out and train the mental midget! Beautiful Journal’s and how I love the Nome’s

curious mrs cog but are the laws pertaining to removing illustrated signatures from another author/artists' own published and created for others and for their profit and then sewing or inserting permanently into homemade journals such as yours, created for others and for your profit....are the laws protecting authors/artists different in each state or country?? And does one journal assembler, need to achieve any official permission from every author artist of every book that you would take into your journals....and if so i wonder if its enforced??hmmm...one last curiosity of mine is are journal assemblers as you , also required to site the authors artists work thats transferred to journals for profit??? So many curiosities... thnx if you or anyone can shed some light on my thoughts! Now im thinkin the author artists of the illustrated signatures could possibly even ask for a percentage of journal assemblers' profits from their sales??? luv n peace 2 u all! -bec.
