I honestly think you could make this a regular series on your channel! I'm not really into vintage styles but I love seeing these, and how you want to help people improve their looks! Please do more of these episodes!

That's the type of video I really enjoy because of the diversity of styles.

Thanks for including me! (Dylan at the 16 minute mark) I have to say that my favorite outfit of the video is Alexander, who comes in at 23:08. The colors are stunning, and I love the bold, but authentic silhouette. That’s definitely a look to aspire to! In hindsight, I wish I had submitted an outfit with a more creative, mismatched combination of pieces myself, though I do feel good about my outfit here as well. I’m thinking about starting a KZbin channel soon, focusing on fashions of the 1920s-50s, and including lots of tasty true vintage!

Please do consider making another episode. This is the content I subscribed for! I'm thinking of getting into sewing. I will definitely check out your tutorials and also maybe buy your sewing patterns when I have acquired the necessary skills. I don't aim for period correct attire myself but these are very nice outfits to draw inspiration from. I woud love to participate if you decide to make a new episode for this series.

LOVE how international the participants are here! Really cool to see so many young people enthusiastically experimenting with fashion from different eras to find what they enjoy & what suits them best, rather than feeling constrained by only current trends.

That was an absolutely fascinating programme. I came about your page from a link after the Pitti Uomo 2022 video that you made, which was also fascinating. The first suit I wore was my father's wedding suit, to a family event when I was about sixteen, he was married in 1951, I felt ridiculous. I was glad to out grow it before the next event. When he died, I donated it to a charity shop along with all his other clothes that did not fit me, that was in 1982. His advice, which I followed was buy what is good, not what is merely fashionable tat. My Grenson Victorian style derby boots are thirty years old, my Burberry raincoat, is thirty five, my Turnbull and Asser shirts are all in their thirties and none of them look tired or worn. Unfortunately a life of sport means that none of my suits fit me any longer, including a Paul Smith suit I won in a raffle prize at a GQ event in about 1990. I'm glad to see so many people using Darcy Clothing, as I fear they won't have sufficient business.

I liked Pom’s (?) outfit the best. Out of everything, his was the most “lived in”, or the one I could see being the most natural to wear day to day. He didn’t quite get as close to his historical inspiration as the other submissions, but his personal style seems to work so well it doesn’t matter.

Absolutely loving your channel. I'm a newly out trans man and your vintage fashion advice has been invaluable to me recently. Since I have to rethink how to dress and what kind of man I am fashion-wise, the logical choice for me seems to dress vintage/historybound goth. (Doing LARP for roughly 10 years now, making my own costumes, sewing my own clothes and being a big ol' nerd about historical fashion in genreral.) I'm currently sewing a pair of Victorian work trousers and planning a roughly late Victorian suit for next year. My favourite outfit by far is #13! It's so daring and a real statement, love it!

Wristwatch in the first picture seems to be something based on Cartier Tank (it's heavily copied), which is a line started in 1918. Would be very modern for 1920s. Cartier was really pushing men's fashion in the direction of wristwatches since 1904 with the first pilot's wristwatch (Santos).

Always enjoy your videos! May I ask where you got your striped buttonshirt? That isn't an easy to find pattern, especially with the plain white collar; very elegant. (As far as the gentleman with the pinky ring, I think it works on him! I'd only drop the tie clip, because, with a waistcoat, especially that high, it serves no purpose anyway.)
@Vintagebursche2 жыл бұрын
That's a shirt made according to our sewing book. The collar is detachable and also made according to our book. The fabrics are from a flea market and from Acorn Fabrics.
@niaj42 жыл бұрын
@@Vintagebursche I suspected the collar might be detachable (I am still a newbie in many regards.) Great choice of fabric, and thank you for your reply. Though my sewing skills are atrocious, I shall look into the book!

I’m very into watches and I have to say for the first guy he should drop the wrist watch, wrist watches we’re market to women until ww1 when soldiers realized how hard it was to check a pocket watch sitting in a trench and didn’t become common for men until ww2

Hello Vintagebursche. I getting ready for my first "tailored" suit. I have a casual lifestyle and love the Italian Naples style, soft shoulders/no shoulder padding/patch pockets sometimes. .....but......all the present tailors seem to be cutting the jackets too short, with a little too much flair cut from the first button. i.e. the bottom of the tie, belt buckle, or shirt shows at the bottom cut away of the jacket? Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this a modern version of the "classic" Neopolitan style? I'm searching for vintage photos of vintage Neopolitan style. Your knowledge/opinion would be welcome. I would like my first "tailored" suit to be presentable. Thank you.
