He embodies so much of what we love about Frisell. It isn’t just the note selection, phrasing, tones, stacked orchestration… it’s his gentle manner, creative generosity and persona. He exudes kindness, it just pours out. He is so in his element in these videos. They deserve to be collected and studied. I’ve made a lifetime of pointing people in Bill’s direction. The white guards are my favorite era. Very touch sensitive and responsive. Beautiful instrument and the playing is just out of this world. Bravo.

i would take a white guard over a black guard any day of the week- don't ask me what but they did something to the pups around the change (i think it was 42 awg wire)
