@@mrragaman7270 It's based on fact. Platini was a midfield creator, genuinely two footed, a regular goal-scorer and with penalties, free-kicks and headers. He could also get goals playing as a centre-forward and ‘ghost’ into the penalty area for headers. In 1982/83 from midfield for Juventus he scored 30 goals in all competitions and not one Italian striker could match his 18 in the league! If Maradona can be said to have single-handedly won the World Cup in 1986, then the same can be said of Platini in the European Championship of 1984. France had no goalscoring centre-forward that year, so Platini was required not only to organise the midfield but to get himself into the penalty area and score which he did 5 times and along with his usual penalties and free- kicks, finished with 9 goals. That takes great stamina and character as well as skill. Zidane's reputation is chiefly for having large feet to manipulate the ball and scoring two goals in the 1998 World Cup final - a tournament that he otherwise he didn't turn up for.

A propos de la vidéo, je n'ai jamais vu un joueur changer à ce point le cours d'un match en quelques minutes. @7:02 Look at the skill of Dragan Stojkovic (not sure if I've spelled his name correctly!). Not to mention the wonderful Platini; he truly rose to the occasion, as fans always wish their greatest players will do, in this tournament. His precision when passing and shooting stand out as one of his most distinguishing traits for me when I think of Platini, and for his second and third goals this was on show once again. @8:21 I'm very surprised that the penalty was ordered to be retaken, the keeper's movement before the ball being struck was minimal and in all the years since I can barely remember keepers being punished for moving too soon, certainly far more egregious examples go unpunished on a regular basis. It's good to see the rules being enforced though!

A l'époque, il y avait du jeu, quand le ballon était à l'arrière, les défenseurs relançaient vite devant, on avançait, on lançait les avants et on avait évidemment des occasions de but. Aujourd'hui, on donne le ballon à gauche, puis derrière, puis à droite, puis encore derrière, ça n'arrête pas. Et les joueurs adverses ont donc tout le temps de se replier.
