If you press alpha and then trace, you can also get to the functions (Y1, Y2, Y3, etc.) instead of going through vars.

That's going in the 2024 version!

you can do the fraction trick on the ti-84 plus ce much quicker just by hitting ‘alpha’ then the ‘X, T, *theta*, n’ button

TYSM! That is a great trick for the new calculators. I will pass that along to my students on Monday and be sure to give you the shoutout!

if you press zoom and then 0, your calculator will automatically fit the window to the table values of your current function

@@Rich-je9fy yeah it is but i figured out how to do it without a calculator

Glad you figured it out and thanks @Rich for the reply.

You can put that equation in the “y = “ thing then go back to Home Screen and in a fraction, type (y1(12)-y2(10))/(12-10), giving you the answer of -88

How did your AP test go?!
@jpermskyblock Жыл бұрын
i did ab and it seemed decently easy except for 3c (use 2nd derivative of a diff eq to find over/underestimate)

Hey! Does anyone know how I can "unstore" (sto command) the letters... meaning how do I revert it back to letters A,B,C.. etc. Just wondering if there is an easier way rather then resetting the ram on the calculator. :)
@SyntheticCatalog Жыл бұрын
iirc, the default value for x is already a number (either 0 or 1). There’s no resetting needed

This video is a misleading trap into leading desperate students into a way to cheat through their exams. Your procedures, which surely only work on your specific Ti-xx, are also completely useless. Uses of the calculator are and have been known for years, per their documentation. Stop this misinformation of there being some sort of shortcut to making algebraic calculus work in this calculator; it can’t be done when tests are based off of exact algebraic values. Shame on you.

The TI-84 is one of the most common graphing calculators that people use I don't get why you act like this is some niche calculator that no one uses. And I also don't get what you are saying I've been studying calculus for a few years now and a calculator has always been useful tool for me and I'm sure for countless other people too. Just because an exam uses exact algebraic values doesn't mean a calculator can't be useful. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Since you can use the calculator for a good amount of the test, I believe this video is a good tool to help students do well.

Ok boomer you use paper and pen, I will use a calculator (which has been allowed on AP exams for the last 15+ years) ☺️
