Great video. I saved it for my records to when I get to do this. It's precious to see how the two of you work together. Susan's smile is the best part to watch. Thank you both.

Thanks Jim, Susan wakes up with that smile and is a joy to be around. I am a blessed man.

Excellent details! When I finished my Kitfox 4 back in 1993 all it got was a tape pinstripe. This really looks professional. Nice work.

Thanks! I was really dreading painting strips on and when I found this it is much better for us non-professionals for sure!

@@Bearhawk_Life So far I see no reason not to use the car wrap for design work.

Wow. Those pin strips around the front pieces really make it pop. Very slick. Thank you for the inspiration. Legend.

Thanks Jono, I agree the strips really help the looks. Thanks for your comment!

Looks great. To protect your film and paint and aid in locking in the air release, us a piece of the backing paper. Lay it on an area you are doing your final press down on. Then you can angle the point of your squeegee more perpendicular to the surface and use more pressure without worry of drag or scratching the vinyl or paint.
@KitfoxPilot2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Scott, I will do that and I appreciate the advice!

The pin stripe really sets it off! If you pin stripe the bottom, maybe use a wider tape in a bright blue as a shadow line spaced a 1/8in off of the green.

That sounds interesting Edward, we are not very good decorators to know what to do for looks. Thanks

1/4 inch black accent above and below the green would be good too. imo

Thanks Phil, I hadn't seen it either but had read about it a few times. So far I really like it if it don't fly off. haha

Hi Harlan. The stripe adds so much more texture and depth to your baby. Only thing I could see was maybe a black anti-glare on the cowl but that's just me. My eyes are overly sensitive to light and I also think they're cool. At any rate, cool beans. Till next time, God bless.
@KitfoxPilot2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Michael, I was thinking about the black anti glare. Thanks

Looks great Harlan! I'm planning on a bright green trim color too, although I plan on a much darker charcoal grey base color. You made that look easy.

Thanks Mike it was one of the easier things I've learned. You will enjoy it.

Harlan, by adding the John Deere Green color to your airplane I believe you may have just forfeited your right to maintain your aircraft. Seriously though... thanks for sharing this, I hadn't heard about this material you are using. The accent color looks nice. (I'd personally go with full black pin-striping around the green, top and bottom)

You may be right Glenn. I can't get a repairman certificate anyway cause no one at the faa will take a office visit. They are still all at home working. They are checking to see if it can be done over the net somehow but it's been 3 weeks so maybe I can't fix it any way. haha
