I love that song “Dear God” off the Midge Ure album. I really am not familiar with any of the other songs. I do love his voice though. Loved seeing that Members album. URGH a music war was a great rock doc/movie. I have the soundtrack on vinyl. I was introduced to so many great bands from that movie. Great stuff, Stephanie.

Thanks, @mamabearvinyl! I completely forgot about "Dear God" until you mentioned it. The Members album is one of my favorites, and "URGH! A Music War" is definitely one of the best rock documentaries out there. The soundtrack introduced me to some fantastic bands too. Thanks for watching, and have a great weekend!

What I remember most about Slim Whitman are the tv ads where they introduced him as "the man who sold more records than The Beatles!" His was known for his yodeling prowess. As usual, an interesting selection of records and I think you made good choices. No one is going to be upset with you for getting rid of that Twisted Sister record!
@djstephwest18 күн бұрын
How funny. Just did a KZbin search and there are several cheesy TV ads selling Slim Whitman's music on KZbin. I appreciate your feedback on the record choices-I'm glad you liked them. And yes, it seems everyone agrees that the Twisted Sister record should go!

@@djstephwest Full disclosure: I may have a Slim Whitman cd in my collection. Forgive me father, for I have sinned.

Hi Stephanie ! Great early 80's records with Teardrop Explodes , Human League , Cars & U2. That Midge Ure does have a nice duet with Kate Bush - Sister & Brother. Happy 4th of July ! 🎆

Hi @davidellis5141! Wow, I just listened to "Sister and Brother." Their voices make a great-sounding duet. Thanks for all the facts; you're a walking musical encyclopedia. Have a great weekend!

Good call keeping that Human League album. I purged the John Waite one recently, although i love "Missing You". Have a great week!

No way I’m keeping Twisted Sister. But wow I remember kids in class obsessed with that band. And carving TS in their desks or on their school folders. Oh hell yes on Missing Persons. That album is legendary as far as I’m concerned. Used to dance to their music at the clubs as a teenager. U2 gets a bad rap today for some reason. People like to dislike them. But they really are a terrific band. And an incredible catalogue of songs. Sadly I cant confess to know who Slim Whitman is so no comment but seems kind of cool. I like The The but I have to be in the mood to listen to it. Human League also a must. That is a terrific album. They are way better than just their hit radio play songs. Have a terrific Holiday! Spin some fun tunes. Take care.

The consensus from the Vinyl Community has been to pass on Twisted Sister and Slim Whitman. I personally feel that earlier U2 is their best work, although they lost me a bit after "Achtung Baby"". Thanks for watching. Hope you have a great weekend!

Totally agree on keeping that Missing Persons and U2. I love early U2 and that MP is like a greatest hits. When I was in high school they always had tv ads for the Slim Whitman greatest hits. Not a fan lol. Fun video!

Yep. That's a good motto: "somebody else out there will appreciate it". Yes send them back into the wild! However, watching the last several videos I'm not sure you've lightened your moving load very much lol. It speaks to what you've chosen to pick up over the years! Things you would like to keep :-). Again, you've chosen wisely. I've always loved the track "Seconds" off of Dare. It hits me. Oh, and the the Will be playing up here at the Fox in Oakland! Pretty cool. Good luck with the ongoing process of th the herd!

Send them back into the wild! Ha, I love that. Yep, not lightening the load much, I'm afraid. If I can get rid of anything I don' listen to, that will be progress. "Seconds" by Human League has some really nice synth work! It would be great see The The-thanks for the heads up. I don't get to see live shows much these days. Have a great weekend!

I bought a lot of my used albums at Streetlight Records on Bascom Avenue in San Jose back in the 80's when the store was in a little house and the owner's name was Stretch. I bought many albums for 2 - 4 dollars back the and now these albums are worth 40-50 dollars each.

That’s the same Streetlight Records I’m talking about! I used to shop there all the time circa “97-‘99. Loved that shop.

Slim Whitman...pass. Cringe worthy, and I like old country. Lol. The 80s were kinda hit and miss for me, music wise. But I'm an old man who got into music in the late 60s. I'm 67, which explains alot. Great video.

The The have a new album and they are touring in the USA. I'm in agreeance with all the ones you're getting rid of though I might keep Slim Whitman. He did save humanity in the movie Mars Attacks. I had the Urge, 'A music war' album when it came out. It was a monumental for me and exposed me to a lot of bands I had never heard of. That album was one of the reasons I became a musician. I enjoy your videos. Thank you.

Hi @tumblelake63 Glad to hear another fan of URGH! I think it's one of the best concert films out there. Thanks for the info on THE THE. I'll definitely check out their new album. Slim Whitman cameoed in Mars Attacks? LOL, I'll have to revisit that film. SO, Slim is going back into the wild and he's taking his "Twisted Sister" with him. Thanks for watching, and I hope you have a great weekend!
