Jazz wall is approved! Bunk buddies - haha. Kudos on pronouncing Balmorhea correctly! Wow - that Joep box is massive. I think all DG are printed, plated and pressed at Optimal. Yes - The Easy Way! I scored a sealed Speakers Corner of that one last spring. Hard to track down - as you mentioned. My favorite Giuffre. Love the new specs, man.

I've been a fan of the Mangione LP for years. Its so different/better than his "known" stuff that I would put it on and play "guess who this is" with my other jazz fanatics. No one ever got it right and were shocked when I revealed the cover to them.

I was concerned about the pressing quality first, because my last DG expierences were not that great. The ERC Mono Chet is unbelievable, having now listened to it. Simply Insane.

Hi Danny. Very Nice! I still think in general, like with the Kallax, you need slightly more height to easily get a finger over the top of an LP to easily pull out and/or to fit a box set.

If you want a completely different slant on Chuck Mangione check out the album Jazz Brother. A 2 fer lp set on Milestone with his brother Gap. Also incl Wynton Kelly, Sal Nistico, Louis Hayes, Sam Jones, et al. Straight ahead jazz. I've got the Bill Evans Trio 64 in the mail. I've got a mint Trio 65 but will probably get the AS Verve as well. Like the new shelves. Cheers.

Hi Danny....I am assuming that the yucky digitally sourced edition of the Monk lp you are referring to is the 2015 one pressed at RTI?? Such great music I had never heard!! I found a minty mono 1982 OJC Riverside copy for $55...very happy!! Many Thanks for the recommendation.

Another Oregon LP to check out is "In Performance" the Mofi half-speed of "Distant Hills" is another and goes for cheap last time I looked. Agree on The Chuck Mangione in general but "Children of Sanchez" is worth checking out. I just scored a NM copy of the Speakers Corner Guiffre off ebay for not a lot...watch lists and patience are your friend!

As someone who picked them up when they were first issued, Trio 64 works while Trio 65 doesn't, for me. Trio 65 is an example of a poor Bill Evans album - put out enough LPs and one is bound to underwhelm. The tracks are short, the playing, while adequate, is uninspiring and it never goes anywhere. Trio 64 - good. Trio 65 - a disappointment, to me.
