Hi Lori I do use balloon shine if they require it. I certainly wouldn't use balloon shine before applying vinyl... it will reduce the ability to stick

With clear balloons the hi float leaves little bubbles so it doesn´t look smoth and completely clear, how can I fix that? 2. When applying the vinyl it looks nice but after a couple of hours starts to came off and have wrinkles on the vinyl, like if the balloon is losing the helium even with the hi float. 3.what kind of vinyl do you use? do you use a special brand? 4. Clear bubble balloons from qualatex can be treated with hi float? 5. When I apply the tissue paper confetti after the hi float, the color from the paper start kinda transfer to the latex, do you leave it to dry for how long before apply the confetti? Hi Diana Hopefully I can help: 1. With clear balloons the hi float leaves little bubbles so it doesn´t look smoth and completely clear, how can I fix that? After a few days, especially in heat the hi-float will start to look cloudy but you say bubbles? Perhaps you are using too much hi-float, in Sydney Australia we use about half the recomended amount and still get the same result. Its a balancing act between making sure you use enough hi-float to be effective (properly coated) and not using too much so it clumps and looks messy. 2. When applying the vinyl it looks nice but after a couple of hours starts to came off and have wrinkles on the vinyl, like if the balloon is losing the helium even with the hi float. Try applying the vinyl after the hi-float has set and the balloon has made its first initial reduction. (say 4 to 5 hours). Vinyl can also be significantly affected by fluctuations in heat... so if its cold overnight, the balloon will shrink and the vinyl won't shrink at the same rate. When it heats up the next day, the balloon will expand back to its original position but the vinyl won't stretch at the same pace... bubbles will form. 3.what kind of vinyl do you use? do you use a special brand? We use 'Avery 500' found here (from our local supplier): www.gamart.com.au/Products/SignageFilm/Avery500MatteMonomericCalendered.aspx 4. Clear bubble balloons from qualatex can be treated with hi float? I have tried this but with not much luck. The hi-float cannot breathe through the deco bubble material like it would with latex (more porous), so it doesn't dry as fast. Also you don't need hi-float in a deco bubble for longevity.... I tried it so I can get confetti to stick, the problem I found was the neck of the bubble is so small that it was difficult to get confetti in quickly so it can be evenly distributed and neat. 5. When I apply the tissue paper confetti after the hi float, the color from the paper start kinda transfer to the latex, do you leave it to dry for how long before apply the confetti? I apply the confetti directly after the balloon has been inflated (using this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXScmIluYspkeck). The hi-float should stretch with the balloon and thin to a very small concentration by now. I think if the ink is running you are using too much hi-float, there is excess liquid. Good luck!

Hi Chris, I made one of these large latex balloons with vinyl for my daughters birthday last week and I found that after about 24 hours or so the vinyl went a bit bubbly so had to shift it around . Is this normal ? I added a pump of ultra high float too . It also started to drop a bit but I did have a tassel garland on it . Many thanks 😊

Hey! Unfortunately latex and vinyl is a tough combination. Latex starts shrinking so quickly. We guarantee only 12 hours with vinyl (after hi float). My advice would be to pre inflate with hi float and then let settle for 24 hours. This sets the high float and passes the initial larger helium loss

Hi all, great video. I need some help please. I'm new to this and have done a few balloons with vinyl lettering, unfortunately sometimes the lettering starts to crease and peel away from the surface of the balloon. This is not due to the adhesive loosing its stickiness. I assume this is due to the balloon expanding and contracting due to ambient temperature changes and as the vinyl does not expand/ contract in the same manner its starts to peel away from the balloon. Have any of you experienced this? How do you deal with it any tips? Many thanks

Hey! You are right, the most common cause of vinyl creases is the balloon is decreasing in surface area and the vinyl doesn't compress at the same rate. My only advice is to apply the vinyl on the day on location. Also hi-float your balloon in advance and let it sit for 24 hours before applying the vinyl. Chris

Hi Victoria. Yes regular vinyl (the stuff we use is called 'Avery 500'). The transfer tape is medium tac clear.

Try calling some local printing companies for a list of wholesalers.

Both work great. You can stick confetti to both using static, latex balloons can also use hi-float to help stick the confetti.

Hi Ruth That will happen, there is nothing you can do about it. Helium will escape from latex even with hi-float... the challenge is to determine exactly how long you want to guarantee the longevity to your client. In Sydney Australia we guarantee 3 days looking perfect.... it can last 2+ weeks but I don't want a customer calling me on the 13th day upset that it didn't last the full term
