Is there another beginner viola video after beginner routine part 2? It seems to jump to a more advanced lesson from there... :-)

From here you could go to the 'Viola Time Joggers' book kzbin.info/aero/PLRCU0oAsJO8z-WFOQTDILPE-5XCstD2TT and once you get all the fingers down on the fingerboard you could look at the scales & technical work & pieces from AMEB Preliminary Grade kzbin.info/aero/PLRCU0oAsJO8xEFCQxCoRD7iJTbaT-WAIz. Also, is there a method or repertoire book that you use?

Why would the introduction of glass notes (magic notes) in 4th position be on the 2nd lesson of a beginner? That's an advanced technique. 😳
@StringlifeOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Harmonics (magic notes) are very useful to learn for beginners. It helps you to have the instrument securely under your chin and not being held by your left hand. It introduces the fingers to the string whilst also making sure the finger is exactly in the right place to produce the note properly. It also encourages broad balanced bow stroke to produce a quality sound. It’s a little bit difficult but also a lot of fun.

Hey I’m confused because when i put my finger on the strings and played. No matter where i moved them. They always had that shrieking sound that those not sound right. What’s going on?

I just want to give you some feedback. I like your videos but the sound of you speaking is too low. So, when I hold the viola against my head I can hear my instrument very loud and can't hear your instructions. I'm not sure if you can re-upload your videos with tweaked sound if if you need to record new ones. But for future videos it would be really helpful if you could somehow be miked in a different way, so that your voice is loud and clear. Hope this helps.

I noticed how u took your finger off the string every once in a while and I was hoping that u could tell the viewers when to put and take off your finger

Generally I teach beginner to intermediate students to keep their fingers down to help them with playing in tune. From Intermediate level there is vibrato & lots of shifting involved and you tend to naturally end up with only 1 finger at a time on the string
