She would have had to know about that long beforehand. All the references to a toilet and crapping... did she think that would get aired? The speech is heavy duty stuff, not some fluffy inventory of sweet cliches. As such it does not fit into the formulaic content that producers want to show the public.

And why did they also give it to Oprah Winfrey if that matters so much. She's done nothing of significance outside of Miss Sofia, and has not one major acting award to her name. Whoopi is an EGOT.

Do you think people should only share the happy moments of their life? Many social media users would argue that is tiring. For some, it’s seeing the raw, painful parts that connect them to a deeper part of themselves. Sharing your authentic pain can also be inspiring. The world is diverse. Let their be polish and let there be rough edges, there’s space for all of it.
