I bought the collection about a couple of years ago and I’m really happy with all the instruments. Great range of articulations and a really unique sonic precedence possibly in part due to the recording environment . ..great work folks 🙏🏿✨👍🎩✨🦄

Wow! That’s an awesome compliment. Cello update is already live. Email us via the website if you’ve not had instructions on how to update. Violin update is on the way! We just got back in the studio in Jan and recorded a lot more improvisations to bring it up to speed with the others, so should be with you in the next few weeks 😁

hi is there any way of removing the key switches in your viola and bass libraries....maybe something in settings in Kontakt?? as I would like to play them together. but the key switches get in the way as they are on opposite sides of each other....cheers

it has an organic and very beautiful sound, but I must say that it will be necessary to understand if the instrument will marry properly with different orchestral libraries. Lately the libraries of orchestral instruments tend to have a very marked sound environment, which makes them attractive, but not always compatible with other libraries.

The spot mic is very dry and the close mics include a bit of the natural room sound but nothing that colours it too much, so would be easy to fit into other libraries. Check out Dan Keen’s excellent KZbin video about how to put multiple sound sources in the same space. He includes Bass Untamed. We’ve had some good feedback on VI-Control where they’d put it alongside a live string quartet and said it fitted really well.

You mentioned three octaves of improvisations, I'm not familiar with the range of a viola but I'm assuming this instrument covers the whole instrument? What is the lowest playable note please? 🙏

The lowest note on a Viola is C2 (one octave below middle C). We sampled three octaves; C2-C5 inclusive for the whole instrument, except the False Harmonics articulation which is 2 octaves. The viola can go a few notes higher than C5, but really the Violin would typically play at this range.

I hope you'll consider making your instruments available without needing the full version of Kontakt. You should a release either Kontakt Player or a Halion Sonic SE versions. Halion is actually really great to make VIs with. I bet you could port your entire catalog over to it in no time... UI and everything. I don't think Steinberg charges a license fee to release for their free player like NI does. Another option appears to be Melda, which seems to be moving in a similar direction with their Sound Factory player. Long story short, I would buy your whole lot if there wasn't the Full Kontakt requirement.

My friend makes virtual instruments for kontakt player. There is a lot of bureaucratic red-tape in hosting instruments on different players. It's a brutal world out there.

Hey Raz! Tricky dilemma as licensing for the Player versions of Kontakt is quite cost prohibitive for smaller developers like us. We know we'll be losing out to potential customers so we're looking at how we can do it.

At least it's not "yet another string library" furnishing no reason to buy for those of us with too many string libraries already. I see more and more string libraries coming out, yet the makers give you zero reason to want it if you already have 6-8 of the other 16 popular ones.
