It is a router lift that is in use for 2 years without any problems.

허리를 구부려 높낮이 조절하근것보다
서서 높낮이 조절하는것이 더 좋다고 생각해서 그대로 사용중입니다^^

This remote slide for the crank is genius. When I realized what he was doing with the brake cables I had to pause the video and just appreciate how elegant the design was. So much less bulky and operator friendly over every other design I've seen, including fancy commercial products. Rockler, Woodpeckers or Incra is seriously going to steal this idea.

Всего этого легко добиться с помощью домкрата. Короче, идея не нова, но сильно усложнена. Чем проще механизм, тем меньше вероятность того что он станет проблемой.

I don't understand the reason for removing the springs from the plunge mechanism of the router. What made you do that? How would it help achieve anything that wasn't possible with the spring. From what I can think, removing the spring would only make the router more dangerous to use as it might get pulled up without warning.

Dear Sir, by removing the springs which give static opening of the plate from the body, you now rely only on gravity to pull the plate downwards from the body. Do the arms go a little askew and then get stuck, or is the movement smooth? It’s a slick novel approach to working with a mounted router. Love the idea of a big knob away from the cutter to adjust but my only concern is the mechanism will get frequently stuck. How is it going in use? Thanks for sharing.

He used Bowden Cables. If he used push/pull Bowden cables then removing the springs is no problem because then the movement in both directions is positive.

I'm trying to understand what u used to make this brilliantly thought out router lift mechanism. Are those wires/lines from the brakes on a bicycle?? If they are then it's brilliant imho. That's a really smooth running operation u built by the looks of it bro. Is it as smooth as it looks in the video?? I see I'm already sub's to ur channel a while now. This is a great idea and very cheap to make too I suppose. I'm going to have a look at this idea for my own table soon. Can I ask if this would work on a table saw as well? Do u think it would be strong enough to hold the weight of the motor and housing?? I thought I saw this being down on something else before. Be aware that the cooling fan in a plunge router runs in the opposite direction to an inverted router. This means that the router has a tendency to ingest dust, clogging it, and creating a potential fire risk when put to heavy use. When our Onsrud inverted router died, I built one of these to get the boss out of a jam until the proper machine's parts arrived. Works well for a short time, but will kill the Makita fairly fast. Make sure you blow it clean regularly!

@@soldier4christsoldier4chri90 yeah mate. The direction of the fan is pretty much the only difference between a hand router and an inverted router. Keep it clean, blow it out regularly and its not a huge problem Forget it, and the router ends up solid with dust! (even in a proper cabinet table with extraction!) If you're going to do this, I suggest using a "fixed base" hand router, not a "plunge" router. Since you are hanging it in an adjustable cradle, you are better off without the weaker, less accurate plunge base. Fixed base routers are locked at desired depth and DONT come loose, creep, or flex once locked. Much tougher little routers!

It took me a couple of watches to figure out how it worked, but after i did its genius! I have an old spindle moulder with part of the lift assembly missing and i can't find parts for it but this is a very viable option to repair it great work man 👍

How do you make sure that the two cables are equally tight, don't you risk the lift racking if you pull more on one cable than the other or are the linear bearing slides in the router stiff enough that this is not an issue? Maybe put the two cable ends on a pivoting block on the bit where you adjust the lifting from, that should ensure an equal pull of each cable. How much back-lash is there in this setup, I was wondering if you left the springs in the router then they would make sure that you're allways riding on the same side of the thread but maybe gravity is enough to ensure that? Thanks for sharing the idea and video. :-)
