I am so glad I stumbled across this video! I've watched so many videos but none where it is an actual interactive mock class. I was wondering why this wasn't more common. Plus it was great to get the visual of what the set up looks like.

I didn't realize that the introduce slide for phonics is similar to the introduce slide for vocabulary. The phonics sounds are also introduced in isolation.

This video is the closest I could find to a pure mock class performed with slides visible on screen with no commentary before or after. It would be cool if someone out there could do a "perfect" class we could use for modeling purposes and practice. One video for class A and a separate one for class B. I guess I'm making a request for this kind of video. Even though I'm pretty sure I will have already passed the class before you have a chance to record such a video, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person out there looking for this kind of thing.

I agree, a full video showing actual slides would be the most helpful (and maybe something VIPKID could do themselves within the platform) to help applying teachers. Do they send you the props for your mock lesson? Otherwise how would you know what was in the lesson?

Yes! They send you all of the slides with teaching tips in them to help you and show you everything you will need to teach.

This is the best video I've watched for giving newbies an idea of how an actual mock class be like. I'm not sure about what she meant that should be done with the "circle" thingy on the blending slides 🤔❓

Great question. I missed one of the cues on the lesson to have the student circle the correct answer on the screen. It is located on the top right corner of every slide.

This was awesome!! Thank you! I have a question maybe you can answer, the slides that I see on my end are they shared with the student? Do we both draw and drag on the same slide? Or am I just seeing the student's?

Yes it the same for both. So you will both draw and drag on the same slide and be able to see each other’s drawings. The student’s pen is in blue and the teacher’s is in red (but you can change the pen color when you are hired).

So the mock class mentor can't tell me if I pass or fail. She just scores the mock class and sends it to the application team. I am already hired with VIPKID so this was just a "mock" mock class to show people what it's like.
