About those sleeves on the front cylinder studs, I don’t know what they are but my engine has them too. Only on the front just like yours. And I’ve seen a couple other xv1100 engine tear-down videos and they are all the same way. So all I can say it that it wasn’t a mistake.

really appreciate what you are doing, and obviously you have a lot of knowledge to share. if you could be a bit more descriptive, it would be a lot more helpful. not sure what you didnt like about the sprocket? or even what half the parts where for that matter. Sorry for your loss as well

I'm a little fuzzy on the sprocket but i think it was because it was stamped "R" (figured it meant Rear) but was for the front. Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!

I appreciate both of y'all. I'm very mechanically minded, but at the same time, I'm just a shade tree hobbyist who's just sharing his journey while trying to make things work. I'll try to do better about sharing my experiences moving forward. Thank y'all for watching!

Yo man, Got a 81 XV750, one of the pistons melted in the top end (how the seller described it), what kind of work would need to be done to replace a piston?
@pipedreamscustoms5105 Жыл бұрын
My assumption would be that the case would probably need to be split apart to access the bottom of the connecting rods. There may be another way to get to them, but I didn't get that deep into the 1100.

Good day, do you perhaps know what is the torque setting on the cylinderheads for the yamaha virago VX1100 1998 model?
