Those Gen1 carb breathers arrived. Fantastic! Much better than OEM! They are a pleasure to behold, & qualify as "man jewellery" ... even plastic things qualify when ingenious & useful & problem-solving. Another brilliant Steve Hiles re-engineering, & a bargain! Not enough markup for the time & skill involved. Many thanks, you're a huge asset to keeping these bikes...anachronistic & endearing as they are. I'm sure we will cross paths again, even from my distance here in Australia. Thanks again & best wishes

Apologize for posting about these. Guy told me about your project.

Hey man ! Your post out on the forums was spot on 👍. I too had been cutting them open for years and replacing the foam then sealing them back up…I just got tired of having to do it so decided to make some that unscrew so I could pop them open and replace the filters vs. cracking them back open each time. I’m getting lazy in my old age lol ! The carbs in your pics show just how much stuff can get sucked in so it was nice to see another good example of just what those little breather filters do for a living. All the best !

This is awesome! Can’t wait to see these go up on your eBay account. I’ll be buying some for sure!

Thanks 👍. Hopefully they will be listed this week.

Ok Steve you're gonna make us ask. When are these gonna be available for purchase? Like the awesome carb adjustment tool.

Hey ! Now that I confirmed they fit good and the red filter material replicates the original Yamaha filter’s air flow, I ordered enough materials to make 20 of each style (elbows and straights). The parts should be here in a couple of weeks so I’ll get some made and out on my Steve’s DIYs eBay account soon👍. I’ll add a link to the videos description once they are listed. Thanks for checking and All the best !

@@StevesDIYs That's fantastic. I'll be watching for the link. Although i've got familiar with rebuilding the Mikuni carbs, it is getting a bit tiresome. I noticed this problem awhile ago and simply opted to run with empty tubes. Your always taking it next level. All the best to you and yours.

Your videos have been a massive help to me here in the UK, Thank you. Could you send the upgraded replacement parts to the UK or is it US only?
@StevesDIYsАй бұрын
Thanks and glad the videos have helped some along the way 👍. For the replaceable filter breathers, yes, they will ship world wide through the eBay listing as I have the international shipping option turned on. Thanks again and all the best ! Steve.

@@StevesDIYs thank you so much, for turning that on wouldn't work earlier when I tried. Be a massive help. Can't get these in the UK and they are missing of my bike.

Would using the see thru fuel filters, that have the brass beeds inside work as a breather, I live in saskatchewan, Canada and I really have to travel to find parts
@StevesDIYsАй бұрын
Hey ! Yep, most any small filter would work as long as it can filter small particles and also not have very much restriction 👍

How do I get that kickstarter kit
@StevesDIYs2 ай бұрын
Hey man, the one on the bobber is the only one I’ve made so far as it took quite a few hours in the shop to make all of the components. Hopefully this winter when things slow down with work a bit, I’ll be able to dust the drawings off and simplify the design a bit now that I know it works good and the bike will consistently kick over.
