I'm also 73 and make some of my own skin care products, including deodorant which most of my family and extended family use. I make all my own lip balms and because I have been blessed with good skin I hardly ever wear makeup and if I do it's usually just a bit of blush and mascara. I have been using my lip balm around my eyes and mouth and marionette lines for years! It contains butters, coconut oil and beeswax so it keeps the "good stuff" that is in my serum and moisturizer locked into my skin. It works!!!

I use the hack and it works for me, I've not had mascara flaking problems ( i.e. raccoon eyes) using aquaphor with a tubing mascara. Makes me think the problem may be with the type of mascara? Tubing vs non-tubing? Donna

I have been using the hack with a lip balm for some years now and it works very well for me. I am not using any powder on top of the balm but a fluid concealer AND I don‘t wear mascara on my under eye lashes - just apply a soft smudged Kajal pencil line. Btw. I am 73.

Like I told you in my comment on a different video of your’s I’ve been testing the Aquaphor in the tub. Another influencer said the stick has different ingredients than the tub and can cause milia. I’m prone to getting milia. I feel the tub works better than the stick. I can’t use the Maybelline powder either. I use Wet n Wild photo-focus loose powder. The concealers I tend to use are Haus Labs or Tarte Creaseless. I’m not going to use the Aquaphor in the tub anymore. Either concealer and the powder work great! I’d stick to using your almond oil underneath, like you said. Blessings Sharalee!

I won't use any type of oil under my eyes cause oils can clog ur lashes if u get any under the lashes on the bottom and also oils can cause eye styes which can be painful and also going through it to get rid of it is a huge pain! So, for me, I won't use any oily stuff even skincare stuff near my eyes. I use other hydrating stuff for my eye area that isn't oil based.

I looked at Scott's video and he is using th Aquaphor Healing Balm Stick, not the Lip Balm. Looks like they are two different products on Amazon, so maybe that is the difference? Maybe there is more than one video with him, but I saw the Healing Balm Stick with avocado oil and shea butter. Love your videos!

Have you tried a dark orange color corrector first? I am 72 and I use a small amount of dark orange color corrector on just the dark parts, let it dry and then a small amount of the peachy color corrector, let it dry and then (if I need more coverage) I use the Tarte concealer just in the areas that need it...very light amount....this method has worked amazingly well for me. Hope this helps you!

I do have dark pockets and troughs in the under eye area....might be hard to tell sometimes on camera but they are there! As Sandy recommended, color correcting first is the key to covering very dark circles😊

Everybody’s skin type is different. Some are oily, others are dry and others combination. Probably the clients this hack was used on have very dry skin under their eyes. That’s probably why it worked for them. Thanks for debunking this.
