Take a look at current USA government, conservatives making lots of noise against the crazy democrat policies but at the end the crazy policies seemingly just get pushed through way more often than not. There is no point in having 2 parties if the counter balance party is essentially a neutered dog just licking its wounds when it comes to voting on issues. Ukraine money laundering is a good example.
