I never learned how to vamp men, and I never really wanted to learn. But a few decades ago when I was in my early 30s, I encountered a young teenage girl who already knew all those tricks and used them to go after every guy I liked. All those guys were close to my age and I think she was about 15. But she successfully got them away from me every time. I didn't stand a chance. I'm 69 now, and I still don't know any of those tricks.

But those guys were around 30 or a little older, so there was something wrong with them, anyway. I can see that now, but at the time I was too emotionally attracted to them to really see the red flags.
