We have a Jagd terrier and we love him. I haven't had one since I was a young child and it is a joy to have one once again. My favorite breed of dogs are definitely terriers.

@@ericsplace3004 They are so cool. The coolest terrier in my opinion. But I've heard they are like miniature Malanois on crack. Belgium Malanois are already considered German Shepherds on crack. What's your experience with them are they really hard work? What is your lifestyle is your Jagd Terrier just a family pet satified with long hikes and clear boundaries or are you working the dog all the time?

I used to show my Borzoi at AKC events in the US. I've seen most of these breeds. Had 3 JRTS in my lifetime. They were lively company & I loved them all.

Dobermann and Zwergpinscher are both descendants of today rare midsize Deutscher Pinscher.

Are German pinscher rare? I've seen quite a few in England.

In 1947 breeders of Dobermann Pinscher left Allgemeiner Pinscher - und Schnauzerclub, and the addition Pinscher was official no more used. I am now 59 years old, Dobermann was never a very common breed. Zwerg ( miniature) pinscher is today not uncommon, but middlesized Deutscher Pinscher became rare in Germany. Also, compared to my childhood/ youth all Schnauzer versions became rare.

As i noted , i was born in 1965. In my childhood Schnauzer had been more common than nowadays in my region of Germany. Also in my childhood popular Dachshund ( in my region called Dackel) is today much rarer.

There's also Manchester Terrier in the mix, the Pinscher is quite rare and had to be reconstructed in the 1950s.

The Dandie Dinmont Terrier is on the vulnerable breeds list too. 😢 It's sad to see the popularity of poodle crosses and brachycephalic breeds nowadays which is a major cause.

Ich hatte einen perfekten Cairn Terrier, der leider nach nur 10 Jahren an Krebs gestorben ist. Er konnte nach nur 2 Wochen schon 20 Kunststücke und später hatte ich ihm noch beigebracht, mir mein Asthmaspray zu bringen, wenn ich einen Anfall bekam!😊 Jetzt habe ich einen unperfekten Cairn Terrier, der geistig behindert ist, er hat leider das Deprivationssyndrom!😮 Er ist vom Tierheim aus Italien, wo die Welpen nichts kennenlernen und somit sich das Gehirn, ihre Sinne (hören, sehen, riechen) nicht entwickelt haben und in den kleinen Gehegen die Muskeln sich auch nicht richtig aufbauen können!😮😢 Es ist alles extrem anstrengend mit ihm und ich selbst habe dadurch kein Leben mehr!😢 Zum Glück bekam ich später noch eine English Staffordshire Bullterrier - Mops Mix Hündin aus einer Beschlagnahmung dazu. Durch sie hatte er weniger Angst und traute sich mehr zu! Den geistig behinderten Cairn Terrier habe ich schon seit 11 Jahren, die Hündin erst seit über 4 Jahren. Ich würde immer wieder Terrier nehmen😊, aber nie mehr einen geistig behinderten Hund!😢 Im Haus klappt es einigermaßen gut mit ihm, aber draußen ist er durch die viel zu vielen Reize immer so gestresst, dass er nicht ansprechbar ist und nicht richtig an der Leine läuft. Bruhigen durch streicheln geht auch nicht, weil er sich immer so verkrampft, dass es ihm dann weh tut und er laut schreit, oder aus Reflex beißt! Hätte ich einen Garten, dann würde ich ihn nur dort laufen lassen, wo keine äußeren Einflüsse sind und er sich sicher und wohl fühlen würde. Der Tierschutzverein hatte mich darüber natürlich nicht informiert, was da auf mich zu kommt!!!😞😡Für den armen Hund wäre es aber wichtig gewesen, wenn ich *nicht* mitten in der lauten Stadt in einem Haus *ohne* Garten wohnen würde. Er kommt so nie zur Ruhe, was für ihn so enorm wichtig wäre...😢😢😢 Hätte ich Geld, wäre ich schon längst mit ihm in ein Haus mit Garten auf dem Lande gezogen! Naja, jetzt ist es halt so!😕 Werde aber immer wieder einen Terrier haben!😍😍😍

There are yet skye terrier, bedlingtones which are also rare even more than listed in video. What I see on the streets is 25%DRT, 25% Staffordshire 45% yorkie and 5% for all other terriers. In my neighbourhood there is 1 Jagd, 1 Manchester, 1 Border

Ich habe immer nur Terrier gehabt!😊 Alle immer vom Tierschutz! Mein erster Terrier war ein Austrailian Silky Terrier, sehr robust, eigensinnig und zu 100% treu und zuverlässig, er hat mich auch immer beschützt, obwohl er nur 23 cm hoch war und 5 kg wog!😅 Mit anderen Hunden war er nicht verträglich und bei fremden Menschen kam der Wachhund durch! Klein, aber oho, darf man nicht unterschätzen! Danach hatte ich einen Cairn Terrier, meine Lieblingsrasse.😊 Danach, also noch aktuell (seit 11 Jahren) habe ich wieder einen Cairn Terrier, der leider geistig behindert ist, er hat das Deprivationssyndrom!😮 Und vor über 4 Jahren bekam ich noch eine English Staffordshire Bullterrier - Mops Mix Hündin dazu, die ihm mehr Vertrauen gibt und seine Angst vor Allem nimmt.😊 Ich würde mir nach, wie vor immer wieder Terrier anschaffen! Denn ich liebe die ständige Herausforderung, die durch ihren eigensinnigen Character und selbstständig Entscheidungen treffend, immer wieder gegeben sind!😅😅😅 Man muss sehr konsequent sein, sonst wird man niemals Herr der Lage und diese Terrier übernehmen sofort die Führung, was schnell zur Katastrophe führen kann! Man darf Terrier, ob groß, oder klein, niemals unterschätzen! Sie sind richtige Arbeitshunde und brauchen viel geistige und körperliche Beschäftigung, dann sind sie glücklich und man hat dann den besten Hund, den man sich vorstellen kann!😊👍❤

technically they are super-duper giant schnauzers, not terriers at all (tho aerdale terriers were used to create this breed). And also it is a rather popular breed

Their origin includes the Airedale do at least the breed was created from a terrier and other breeds

@@daemonember True, the Airedale was one of 17 breeds used to make the breed. However, most of the other breeds are working/guarding dogs and I believe the the Airedale was used in the early crosses.
