I heard in his interview that he started very young as well playing with guys way older than him and scoring against them. But I think it says more about Kohli's technique which is not traditional like Tendulkar's was. Also I agree with the point that Kohli wasn't as good as Tendulkar or even Gill when he started but he has improved so much that he is one of the bests of all time.
