Fun facts: 1. G-VEIL ‘Queen of the Skies’ was actually named by Queen Elizabeth II. 2. G-VYOU ‘Emmeline Heaney’ was named by someone who won a bid on eBay in 2006. The eBay auction was listed by Virgin Atlantic, and whoever won the auction would get to name the aircraft. The auction ended at around £10,000, and the winner named G-VYOU after their newborn daughter, Emmeline Heaney. 3. G-VSHY, Virgin Atlantic’s first A340-600, was the also the first one to be retired from the fleet on the 12th June 2012.
