Thundercat's early stuff (Apocalypse and Golden Age) is criminally underrated. Considering that this is a cover of a George Duke song, which itself is a Zappa cover, this is a phenomenal rendition.

Pardon if I'm mistaken but I don't believe this is a Zappa tune. The demo came out on the Waka/Wazoo album but that was under the George Duke demos where I believe he wrote those tunes. It's well stated that Uncle Remus is a George Tune mixed and added on by Zappa, would assume the same for For Love. George was an amazing writer and they were blessed to cross paths without a doubt

he's a family friend, Thundercat's brother is Ronald Bruner Jr. and he and pridgen are known to have been friends for years. plus pridgen wasnt committed to any projects then and is still a brilliant drummer
