I am a math teacher who left (early retirement after 32 years) the public school system because of frustrations with the politics and broken ideologies in school administration. My best advice is to get your children out of public schools and/or parents need to flood the districts and remind them who should really be in charge of what their children are taught.

I would read at lunch, in class and as I rode the 3 miles home. No hands riding a 10 speed while reading a book. I was an addict for sure. I eventually found all of his publishings and read them all. My favorite book of all time is still "The walking drum". If you haven't read it I highly recommend it. And of course the Sackett family of books are a close second. Wanted to name my son Logan but my wife was against it. He would be rolling in his grave if he could see how terrible a place his beloved Walnut Creek, Calif has become. I was born in 83 and I'm a teacher. We sign a legal binding contract that has what is called a morality clause. She knew this before she signed it. Yes and its true 92% of all school teachers in the US are white and female. We need to change that because of the children that we teach do not necessarily reflect that. Three days ago my child started the seventh grade, and not a single mask to be seen in the entire middle school. Our son has never once set foot inside of a public school, and he never will. Not to mention, thanks to the excellent staff at his school, ever since kindergarten, he's never once not made the honor roll. NOT ONE TIME! When he was in the second grade he was reading at an 8th grade level, and by the end of the 6th grade he was reading at a 12th grade level. Thank you Arizona!

I’m a public school teacher and I say, “Home schooling is your best option”. I’m fortunate that my youngest child is in 11th grade and spent the last 18 months of school remotely. I’m fortunate that my oldest child spent the last 18 months of college remotely. I’m fortunate that I will retire by early 2022 and avoid this nonsense. I will not teach CRT in my classroom. I will not attend workshops that push it. As our school’s union rep. I will support my teacher members who refuse to attend, and I will file Equal Opportunity Employment complaints if they are threatened or forced to do so. CRT creates a hostile work environment that discriminates based on race and is illegal in both state and federal law.

I was an English professor for the last 11 years, and I just stepped down over the summer because of this exact reason. I look forward to stepping away because of the politicized classroom, but my true passion will always be teaching. My PE teacher was so scared and kept correcting himself to say “female identifying” instead of female when talking about the locker rooms. There is constant pressure of all classes to “pick a pronoun and share” on the get to know you quiz. And my English apologized to the “young women” in the class before explaining how there was a view of inferiority of women to men back in the 1800s… like, it wasn’t your fault? Why are you apologizing? My Mother was a teacher and I'll never forget the day she came home crying after work because of new policies and she was reprimanded for allowing kids to give her a hug. My mother raised 5 good kids and her students loved her as her heart is huge and she cared for these kids many who came from broken homes and families, who looked forward to her class and receiving and giving a hug. Then more and more regulations, policies, government involvement and social programming designed to isolate kids from family, from caring and from Love.... She resigned when she was told that she can't let the kids give her a hug or vice-versa she was loved by her students also and that was 25 yrs ago....they've been doing this for a longtime and it blows me away that people think this is new.....slow and steady integration to keep you blind to it.

You have to start at the School Board. In my area they closed charter schools whose proficient test scores that have beaten the public schools. Charter schools teach a broad variety of classes that I believe helps strengthen the students complex reasoning and critical thinking skills. They think higher mathematics is racists. They certainly don't think that way in China. They are raising the bar for their students while we are lower it. Instead of lowering the bar to accommodate illegal immigrants sudents. You should do something beside turning our country into a 3rd world country.
