Wild, irreverent, and bursting with youthful libido… “don’t think I ever heard a single civil word from those guys”, but… what a wonderfully vibrant, power-rocking song!
Here’s the link to the original song by Queen:

When my wife was in residency the few guys got nasty comments if they wore the same thing in a month. The guys would wear a white polo shirt and khaki pants every day and it was ok. Her head resident even wore the same things because if he spilled something on it on monday you could still see the on saturday. Besides that we were friends with a girl who dated him for a brief time and she said he never even changed his underwear. Definitely a double standard for what is acceptable.

It's funny people make remarks on your outfit: you could make your videos in your kitchen in a hoody, I wouldn't notice, because the content is so brilliant. I loved to see you grooving to the rhythm in the first listen. Rock is made to dance! 💃 Last, every time I listen to Queen I feel that of course the songs were built to be recorded, may be to be aired on the radio, but most of all to be played on stage, in front of an audience. And that makes a big difference. Best regards!

So glad you listened to the album version of this song, with the dramatic Japanese-esque intro segueing into the ascending shepherd's tone - all done with Brian's guitar. It's amazing how he was able to produce so many different sounds with his unique Red Special. One thing I love about Queen is that even when they go hard, they make it fun. They never took themselves too seriously, while also being great musicians.

"Te o toriatte konomama ikou Aisurihito yo Shizukana yoi ni Hikari o tomoshi Itoshiki oshie o daki"- Japanese chorus from Brian's beautiful song Teo Toriatte (let us cling together) I sure hope you get to it,(Freddy plays a toy koto). For an even more aggressive side of Freddy's vocals I recommend the song sheer heart attack from the news of the world album it's Queen's punk song written in response to the sex pistols album never mind the bollocks here's the sex pistols which had exploded onto the world music scene and taken it by storms a few months prior taking a lot of attention away from mainstream music(including godley and cremes great album consequences) it was written by Rodger Taylor and he played bass on it, According to the liner notes John Deacon didn't play on this song, it may be my favorite Queen song. One thing that Queen was very proud of was that they didn't use synthesizers, it stated so in the liner notes of their albums.

Brian is playing slide guitar. He is using a slide (metal or glass tube) on over his finger. This way it is possible to slide up and down without being limited to the 12 notes of the chromatic scale (because of the frets). With a slide, it is possible to slide chords or double stops up and down. Players tend to idea upwards on string beats. Sliding down sounds a bit cartoony. This song reminds me of the band Status Quo. Same type of shuffle rhythm and bass walk-ups. See the song "Whatever you Want."

Millionaire Waltz has some peak Queen elements and is rarely given the credit it deserves. Freddie's vocals and piano, John Deacon's bass, Brian's guitar, and the playful manner they weave around each other is very special to me (especially the piano & bass interactions). John Taylor's drumming is side-lined until the full-on rock sections, but it really steps in when needed.

The one minute intro:. From wikipedia: It is a Shepard tone melody. It creates the auditory illusion of a tone that seems to continually ascend or descend in pitch, yet which ultimately gets no higher or lower. It is reprised after Teo Torriatte to create a circle within the album. Please react to Teo Torriatte as well. It is a thank you to the Queen fans in Japan. So glad you get Queen’s humor. A great deal of their music is done with a wink. As you said, this song is about adolescent sexual tension that is very exaggerated and over the top. Just as “Bohemian Rhapsody” is a send up of the overly dramatic emotionality of both opera and rock music, this does the same for adolescent male sexual frustration. None of it taken too seriously. And it really rocks! Also right about energy. Uptempo, loud, propulsive and the lyrics; Get your party gown Let your pigtails down Get your heart beating, baby!

Keeping the same outfit is fine.. Lex Fridman has made it part of his brand to wear the same suit, shirt and tie in every podcast. It's like his work outfit. It's familiar and allows the audience to focus on the content of his interviews rather than his fashion choices!

I had a job where my bosses brother owned a funeral home. He had five suits that were all identical and that’s what he wore all the time except when golfing. The only thing that he changed was his tie. He felt he had an image and was always trying to show it.

I follow this channel since the beginning or close but never wrote a comment until now. If I did, it would have been similar to many other, saying how much pleasure is to hear your precise and deep analysis on music that I know so well and still I never noticed some of its fine details or meanings. Thanks for this precious gift! I'm not a native english speaker so I'd rather put my thumb up when someone express my same point of view. Because it seems nobody wrote about that, the strange intro to this song is in fact the end of the previous "white man" followed by the strange interlude that seems to rise in pitch forever. Speaking about your dress, it's both funny and sad that many people nowadays seem to believe that anyone on KZbin spend their whole life creating content in front of the camera, that someone with a house like yours with a harp and a piano is in need, and that the outfit is the most important aspect of a person. But let's forget and just think that at least most of them were pushed by good will. One last thing (now that I decided to write a comment I have to say it all). I really hoped you'd listen to "The prophet's song" which is in "A night at the opera". Because I like it of course, but it seems many others consider it a masterpiece. It's also linked to "Love of my life" by the intro/outro performed with the harp and the Japanese koto (I think). And because you mentioned the canon in a couple of recent reactions ... I think you can find it very interesting.

Just a quick comment from someone who is elder to you, lol. I noted your attire as well, but literally thought nothing odd about it. You always present well, your content is most enjoyable, and your clothing is clean and surely comfortable (otherwise you wouldn’t wear it, since filming surely is stressful enough). 😊 The fact that you’ve got a young child in the family makes it even more of a non-issue. I’ve always preferred to wear familiar and comfy clothes myself, wash them, and rewear them. It’s not uncommon, so just continue own being you and posting your interesting videos, please. As a mother, your plate is full anyway. ✌🖖👍

The beginning of It is all the Deacy amp!!! Amazing! And I think it's Japanese inspired And one of the Cardinal rules of writing a hit song, as to never, ever change the speed of the song! Did you notice that the second transition under the chorus was much, MUCH SHORTER than the first one?

Hello Amy, I'm sure all of us rock lovers watching your channel from its beginnings recognize you have evolved your "acceptance", let's call it that for the lack of a better term, of "harder" sounds. I say this not only because I see you having increasingly fun and enjoying listening to this kind of music, but your commentaries are more and more mentioning the timbres and rhythms being used, and how they a produce this or that effect, that requires some attention and insight. So, it is a journey, you learn some things along the way, you start to draw connections with those things you already know, and all in all, I think you are enjoying it for the most part. So are we. And yes, I think you should have a second listen to that Metallica song. I'm pretty sure you'll hear it differently.

You are fabulous and this series is wonderful. Your clothing looks great and is consistent with the enjoyable content at hand - Do Not listen to these critics … BTW: in the states, as Brian and Roger, will explain, the critics were always dismissive - fortunately, they pressed on … As should you!

Well done Amy another great video. I would have loved the Prophets Song , but maybe one for the future . I will be content with whatever Vlad chooses , because you cant please all the people all the time. This song is fantastic live, luckily i am old enough to have seen it , in the days when eyes were our cameras and memory our database, Machines or Back to Humans ?

The first part to me, I almost consider it a miniature overture to the album, because those are parts of other songs on the album. The Tie Your Mother Down song starts with that sudden repeating riff.

Now I’m Here has a killer intro. Dragon Attack has a killer guitar riff. Save Me has killer lyrics. Fat Bottomed Girls has a killer chorus. THIS song is killer ALL THE WAY; perhaps my fave composition by Sir Dr. Brian May of Queen! P.S. The “peace-loving guy” line is the song’s saving grace for me.

After the initial guitar "fanfare" , there is an ascending (is it?!) sequence before the riff comes in. In an interview , Brian May explained that this was meant to be a musical representation of an Escher drawing ; drawings , of stairs ,for example ,which seem to be going up and down at the same time.A clever idea and often overlooked.

Amy, there is urban legend that in one interview Jimmy Hendrix said: "Blues is simple music, everyone can play, but not everyone can feel" and since "rock" music is mostly based on blues, there is other influences too of course, looks like you started to feel the blues ;) Nothing more to add except, great analysis as always and lots of love for family! P.S. The blouse is cool, and every marketing expert will tell you that you are doing the right thing, cause creating the certain image that is recognizable is essence to create brand lol no seriously you are right on spot, and if you find time to change in to something more versatile in your media presence, stay in same style, your style, it suits you well. I like it.
