This reading definitely is my situation. Family dysfunction that has been going on for years. I went to bed a few nights ago feeling hallow, empty and no since of hope for the situation to get better and no since of hope for myself. I’ve been questioning my very existence because I don’t feel valued or appreciated within by my sons, feeling only tolerated within the family unit. But as I’ve made it through the night to see another day, I have to believe there is a meaningful purpose for my existence. If I want to see my son I have to go to court, even though I already pay child support. So yes court is A must if I'm to see him, it's been almost seven months after his mom ghosted me for A stranger. This resonates so much for me. 2 years ago I left my twin after 27 years and 4 kids (8grandkids). He and I were deeply connected on a soul level. He is a diagnosed narcissist and I tried with every fiber to keep it together even 2 years of marriage counseling. I finally left after our youngest daughter left the nest and got married. He drowned his sorrows in alcohol, cocaine and whites. I had to get a 5 year restraining order. I officially took of my wedding ring on his birthday and he came to our former home and threatened me with a gun. I had to call the police and he kept screaming…. How can you do this to me on my birthday! 😮 I ran away and moved 2000 miles to get away from him. He acts like he hates me but I know him so well and he occasionally calls me to tell me how I was right that he would die alone an old miserable man. I dream about him and worry. I also miss him. I do not want him back but will always love him. I am in a new healthy relationship with an amazing man and we live together. I never knew love could be like this. Full of respect and honor. My ex knows and feels like he is somehow in competition with my new love. I could never trust him to change. I was emotionally and psychologically abused for so long and it was so hard to get out. I have been in therapy for 5 years for the damage he has done to me. I notice it more now that I am moving on. I have a lot of trust issues. The damage I fell may be irreparable. Our divorce is not final he has decided not to respond to any of the court orders. I now have to file a judgment with the courts and a default to get it finished. In a default you get everything you ask for. I know holidays are horrible for him. All of our kids turned their backs on him because of how horrible he treated me and them. He is 💯 alone for the holidays. My kids all moved to be near me so we celebrate just the same as before just without him. More grandchildren have been born and he doesn’t even get to see them. I’m sad for him but I realize that is my trauma bond talking. I feel like all the women in my ancestry have had a similar relationship and I am the one who broke the cycle. My kids have thanked me for leaving him because it gave them recognition they craved for their abuse at his hands. All my kids have issues from the things they saw and experienced.
