The word “kuru” means to tremble due to fever or cold.It is a non-inflammatory neurodegenerative disease and is a form of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy transmitted through the act of cannibalism. Children and women were usually more affected than men, probably because they consumed the brain as compared to the men who preferred muscles. With the decrease in the practice of ritualistic cannibalism, the cases decreased rapidly after the 1950s. Kuru was transmitted through Cannibalism among the tribes of New Guinea. (Cannibalism is not the symptom of kuru as you told)

Hepatitis caused by virus
@amitbotanyofficial78023 ай бұрын
@@scienceplanetbiologyhepatitis D was previously ascribed to a defective virus called the delta agent. However, it now is known that the delta agent is a viroid enclosed in a hepatitis B virus capsid. For hepatitis D to occur there must be simultaneous infection of a cell with both the hepatitis B virus and the hepatitis D viroid. Please correct if I am wrong.

@@scienceplanetbiologyHepatitis D virus more closely resembles viroids and virusoids than traditional RNA viruses: it is a small single-stranded circular RNA, it has a double-stranded rod-like secondary structure, and it encodes ribozymes. Like virusoids, it also depends on a helper virus for transmission and infection - at least in humans. Satellite viruses..?
