I think it is fair to say kennyS is one the most impactfucl AWP's in history. Just like jerAx in Dota2 kennyS was basically the reason for the first AWP nerfs in the game and gave us totally new style and mindset to play the position. I've never even been his fan but in those terms he is the granddaddy of game changing AWPing. Of course everyone on the video can fall in to the "best AWPer of all time" gategory. Dev1ce is probably the most solid one due to his extremely best team Astralis (dupreeh, magisk, dev1ce, gla1ve and xyp9x) where every role were so well tought. Fallen was the igl basically the whole time while AWPing and is the face of the whole SA CS. S1mple/zywoo are just overall on the other level, but for me they represent more of the modern era when the game was already taken huge steps by all mentioned before.

Ye he was 16 yo most aggressive awper in the game when you could still run scope. I think his reaction speed and flick speed was fastest in that era but I'd say m0nesy is capable of similar speed today as well. There is so many elite snipers it's hard to say who is "best." Some could argue considering how long Astralis was on top dev1ce could be considered a goat and same with JW in fnatic during their era. It's all subjective, I think there hasn't been such a dominating player in this role that you could say one is obviously the best.

Kenny and Zywoo are my pride as a french CS player. But Fallen and Guardian will always have a special place in my heart. They are the guys that were dominating when I started the game. Also Cadian is on a good path to be a legend of CS. Maybe not a pure legend Awper, but a legend igl and very good awp player.

@@abdellaziz- His playstyle was unique, only s1mple can come close with agro awp play like kennyS did in his prime days. He was the best sniper in Counter-Strike. There are many good awpers still but nobody will come too close to his legendary moments.

Godwoo is the most complete player to ever touch the game. Has the best pistols, great rifle anchor, unbelievable clutches with all types of weapons, can be a one man army with flashy flicks but the next round play passively and strategically etc. May not be the best individual with the AWP alone, but holy shit is he the best player to ever touch the game. Humble personality to boot.

Honestly after only 5 years, I'll take Zywoo over him at this point. Much better on the rifler and has been much more consistent overall. S1mple, for how long he's been playing, is still so good tho, cant deny that. But... S1mple really hasnt matured either. Don't forget that he's literally "boycotting" CS2 right now because he didnt like the game and didnt offer help to Valve, or how sdy and npl have both been kicked and blamed by him, or how there are literally leaked teamspeaks available of him verbally abusing teammates like Perfecto, or how he literally malds so fast and rants to his teammates midway through a round (Gamers8) or treats his teammates like his enemy (AleksiB said in a post-match interview in EPL this year). Not mature, not even close, I'm so fuckin glad he's out of Navi cause I can finally support that team lol

IEver since KennyS' decline from god mode (so to speak), I've seen a lot of people attribute it to the AWP "nerf" Valve made on March 2015 which caused the AWP's movement speed to slow down significantly when scoped. Many said this destroyed Kenny's fast, aggressive playstyle. After 4 months, we see top AWPers like GuardiaN, Skadoodle, JW, chrisJ, allu, etc continue to perform well, while Kenny's game impact with his AWP is no longer significant. In my opinion, the nerf wasn't what killed his AWPing. He probably hit his skill cap and stopped dominating, just like every other player who used to be the best in the world. TL,DR: It's kinda annoying to see people still blindly blaming the nerf for his inconsistent performance lately. Thoughts?

s1mple and ZywOo are undoubtedly the best players in the game. But in terms of AWPing alone there is no other answer for me than GuardiaN. He might not have had the flashy clips KennyS had but his positioning and repositioning was always insane, super hard to read or trade. Same goes for device, that's why he would be a close 2nd for me.

I'll take s1mple. I got into the scene in 2018 and became a fan of Navi because of s1mple. There was something about him, his ability to flip the game around just in 1 round, his eyes were seeking to be the best, and I admired that. Years went on, and he began to reach that level of greatness, through the performances he showed over the years, by the trophies he had won with the Navi boys, by truly showing how much more he can push himself to the limit. He was a joy to watch for me.
