The Virthli Talk was held at the MZU Auditorium on April 2nd, 2024.
The host, Celina Vanlalhruaizeli, commenced the event with the introduction of the panel, followed by a welcoming speech delivered by C. Lalhmachhuana, Joint Editor, Discussion Forum, MZUSC.
Dr. Krista Roluahpuia was then called on stage, where he presented the transformational role of education, emphasizing the transition from monastic and cathedral schools to holistic development. He highlighted that education should not solely focus on job attainment but rather on shaping individuals into well-rounded citizens with a deep sense of civic responsibility. Dr. Roluahpuia stressed that the impact of education should extend beyond examination-based. He urged the students of Mizoram University to grasp the true essence of education and understand its immeasurable impact on various facets of life.
The subsequent interaction session was followed with students who posed questions to Dr. Krista Roluahpuia, Pu. Daniel Lalawmpuia, CEO, Anna Food Production and Greenwave Farmtech, was then called to address the audience. He shared his insights into the founding of his company and the inspiration behind it. He delved into his entrepreneurial journey, shedding light on the challenges he faced and the strategies he employed to navigate the competitive business landscape.
Elvina Lalmuanpuii Leivon, India Audit and Account Service, took the stage to discuss the many factors and issues that can influence the trajectory of a young person's career. She dispelled the misconception that a good financial status and a strong educational background are prerequisites for success, emphasizing that these should not serve as limitations or excuses for determined students. Elvina advocates for embracing risk-taking and being prepared to work hard. Through her insights, she encourages young individuals to challenge conventional norms and pursue their ambitions with unwavering dedication.
This was followed by a beautiful solo performance by Pekhlua, a student from MZU.
An interaction session was then opened where the audience proposed questions and engaged in an exchange with Pu Daniel and Mrs. Elvina on the topics discussed.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks from James Rothangpuia, Chairman, MZU Discussion Forum.
