Virtua Cop: Elite Edition 2 player 60fps

Best viewed in 60 fps. I'm player 1 and Mark is player 2. Both Virtua Cop games are included in this video. This was released for the PlayStation 2 and is also known as Virtua Cop Rebirth. Both games were not originally played one right after the other.

How thoughtful of the criminals to line up to make shooting them easier. If only the civilians would learn to stay out of the firing range for once. And we did see that Virtua Fighter 4 advert, SEGA. If my ears don't deceive me I think the "die" sound clip from the jetpack troopers is the same they used for Hanged Man in The House of the Dead. But hey, why not recycle parts of your hit games to make some things easier (and cheaper.)

How are you getting 60fps on Europe version ? I couldn't find a patch for it . It also looks de-interlaced here.

I believe the game just runs slower for the Europe version, so I set the emulator to run at 60fps in PAL, which just speeds up the game a little in this case. The no interlace thing was just a code that I came up with. This should be the address I set to to 0, but I would need to check that again to be sure. 201919B8

@@Shawdh33n You really want to use it? Just so it's clear, you can use your regular Windows cursor to aim without having to use the in game crosshair. I only turned on the crosshair because this was 2 player, and I wouldn't have been able to see where I was aiming without it. When I checked Virtua Cop 3, the cpu requirements seemed pretty high. I can say for sure the game is possible to record, but I don't know at this point just how bad the slowdown would be. It's not something I can do for at least a few months, though. Only Silent Scope 2 on PS2 is multiplayer, but because it uses the iLink cable, it's not possible for me to play it like that. I had considered playing those games at some point in single player mode, but I would need some practice. Finally, Terminator Salvation is not playable on PC yet, but I'm sure that will be an option sooner or later.

Could you help me about using mouse to emulate lightgun on pcsx2? Starting with the plugins I need and how I have to set it up? Last time I tried it was back in 2013 and I utterly failed miserably and ended up using mouse to analogue emulation instead of mouse to lightgun and man mouse to analogue just sucks and is not ideal at all.

You can set it to rawinput for mouse API, but I don't think that matters. i.imgur.com/Znmy118.png On this screen, set the alignment to whichever game you're playing. For this game, I use left click for shoot, right click for reload and middle button for start. You can use the WASD keys for directions in the menu. You may need to temporarily change reload or start to the B button in the menu. After the calibration screen, always make a save state so you can easily get back to the title screen after you close the emulator. You may need the mouse calibration hack box checked as you calibrate the gun, but always make sure it's unchecked during regular gameplay. I don't think I can say anymore for now, but if you run into any problems, let me know and I'll see if I can help you out.

I haven't really messed around with the lightgun on Dreamcast games, but I never had a problem with lightgun emulation on arcade games using Demul.

@@arronmunroe Arcade aka SEGA Naomi version of House of Dead 2 auto reloads when you aim the gun out of screen. Pressing right click aims the gun outside of screen and thus HOD 2 arcade version is playable on demul. But for dreamcast games you need to shoot outside of the screen. That measn you have to hold right mouse button and then press left mouse button to reload. This cannot be changed at all. So dc ports of hod2 suffers from this issue. ^ Aside from that, the Dream cast port of Vcop2 also seems to suffer from freezes when I use lightgun and shoot. This doen's't happen when I just use keyboard as controller.

Holding the right mouse button and pressing the left button to reload is also a problem on a few arcade games, such as Lupin the Third and Death Crimson OX. The emulator Flycast, which is in Retroarch, also has Dreamcast support and I think lightgun support, but I haven't tried Virtua Cop 2 with it to see if it works.

The flash actually is normal, although I was able to remove it with a cheat. The crosshair also only shows up normally when you use a standard gamepad, but I also changed that with a cheat. Keep in mind you should still be able to see the regular mouse cursor to see where you're aiming.

@@thatoneguy5383 I do have it, but I'll try to get back to you soon with it. I have to double check, but I'm pretty sure I never got these particular cheats working as a .pnach file so I did it manually through the PCSX2 debugger. I'm pretty sure there is some simple thing I don't understand about how those files work. For a second mouse, it should be as simple as setting both ports to Guncon 2, and the API needs to be set to rawinput. There is a setting where you click to make it detect which mouse is for which port.
