I think LALLLondon was talking about her complete aesthetic in Virtua Fighter 4. Not just 1 specific costume. This is by far Sarah’s best character model. Her face looks great and her body is k!ller in VF4. Now in Virtua Fighter 5 she’s too boney. Here, she looks like an actual threat. Just like in the Anime.

@@BCDC123 exactly! In VF4 she feels like a real character. The pre and post match poses, voice acting, styling, and of course character model. A more realistic Sarah than the typical 'sexy assassin' trope. I guess that can be said about most of VF4 characters.

4:00 - the arcade game actually starts. Really enjoyed playing VF4 on the PS2 and still break it out on the PS3. Preferred this version's monstrously muscular Vanessa Lewis to the others. Liked how VF used actual martial art styles and techniques to the unrealistic fighting of the other games (Mortal Combat cartoony shenanigans or total divorce from reality physics of Dead or Alive). Really wish VF4 was ported to the PSP or PSVita!

There's nothing realistic about juggle combos lol. With the advent of UFC, Virtua Fighter lost a lot of its luster since it turns out that most of vf's fighting styles are complete crap in a real fight.

This video quality is rare. It really represents the real Ps2 version sharpness, colors vividness and animations smoothness output via official component cable (upscaled to 720p using OPL). I downloaded this video just on purpose to watch it once in a while quickly instead of playing the game itself on my Ps2 via OPL (which I do kinda often, anyways), I mean, it's damn beautiful. 🤩 The original arcade (which I play via Demul) does have minor jaggies in comparison (pretty much as Ps2 evolution revision) to the shimmering Ps2 visuals, but personally I prefer the Ps2 different (generally colder) palette, here and there less rich, yet appreciable in a way. Also some nice Ps2 software routine details as (emulated) bump mapping on Akira cheeks and jaw skin are completely missing in the coinop.

That's a general statement but you can spot it on comparisons on games that appeared on both. Even Shenmue 2 Xbox is not really superior to its DC counterpart. It was superior in some areas and inferior in others. DC was a beast, it appeared in two years before the PS2 and was rather cheap. It should have been sold better. It did sold not bad actually, best console launch ever when it appeared, but SEGA was weak and needed a huge success.

The main menu is so beautiful and features awesome music. This is the only aspect where EVO is actually a downgrade.

EVO was a downgrade in everything imo! Stages were better in VF4 vanilla, they had a big step backwards in evolution from the environment and aesthetics of stages. (luckily final tuned fixed that and had better stages overall) The characters select screen in evolution was horrible! And don't get me started on that pathetic memory card problems when selecting players data. Like who in the hell in am2 thought that was a good idea where both players can share the data in a one card?-_-) when vf evo ps2 tournaments were hosted a bunch of pepole couldn't play with their own data and costumes due to this tiny stupid mess. soundtracks were bland and unfitting for literally all characters unlike in vanilla where each theme fits the specific character respectively. Item/color and rank grinding was although "easier" in evolution than vanilla 4 but it gets repetitive and really annoying at a short time honestly where in vanilla it was more rewardable and gives so much replay value because it was hard and represented the japanese arcade matches pretty well when it comes to the CPU. EVO is just meh, Vanilla is really good and FT is basically the best out of them :)

them graphics. i wished this would come to dreamcast. it was sceduled actually. the dreamcast was discontinuid very late in 2001 i believe, got shenmue 2 instead that christmas. also a very impressive late release for the dreamcast.

the spiritual successor of the dreamcast is the xbox. microsoft did more for the dreamcast than design the controller, the console's very operating system is windows fork ce with directx. if you play virtua fighter on xbox you're playing on the dreamcast

Yeah in the disc there are also some actual 3D objects that could of been in the unrelease port. But actuallyVF4 was running on the naomi 2 its more powerful but that still doesn't mean that we could of had a nice scale down port like Saturn and there model 2 ports
