Best part about Shun Di is when you do moves in a ranked match that your opponent has never even seen. You can string together some ridiculous looking moves. Most exciting player in the game in my opinion.

The thing you have to remember is that in VF you choose a fighting style, not a character. Stick with it to master it. jumping from one character to another, especially for beginners, is definitely not gonna end well..

As one western player who played in Japan once said: "never confuse depth with difficulty. Learning the basic system of VF gets you very far, which at most elemental level just means standing Punch, low Punch, mid Punch and throw. Use P as a "lead jab" to test opponents defence, as even when blocked it forms disadvantage to your opponent. This simply means he eats mid Punch if he tries to attack. If he block, throw. If he goes on offensive, low Punch beats that. Of course you can move or evade.

Shun is the best Drunken Kung-fu character of all fighting games (actually VF5 is the best fighting game there is anyway). He makes his counterpart in Tekken look really bad. Lol

Yes, some moves cant be done until certain amount of drinks are obtained. Some moves give you drinks automatically like throws
@Neonomide12 жыл бұрын
Understanding this basic guessing game gets you started in 5 minutes really. Other moves are mostly just extensions to that: side kick is slower, longer range version of mid Punch and so on. The key to understand these attacks only demands one "the other" thing, the use of block button. Blocking allows you to stop attacks strings and movements mid way for all kinds of stuff. The only thing that really needs to be added your offensive it a launcher - an attack that allows for a combo when hit.

I have come to grips with the fact that I just don't have time to learn the characters as well as I would like to. I feel like VF is a cool game b/c even a beginner can at least do some cool stuff just by varying strikes, but the depth of moves at each character's disposal is far too great for a noob like me to master.

VF Chess?? NO, I like VF and i honestly think it's just glorified Rock, Paper, Scissor. In my opinion that's a good thing beacuse it makes the game more fair. Scissors/Grabs beat Paper/Guard, Evading. Paper/Guard, Evading beat Rock/Hits. Rock/Hits beat beat Scissors/ Grabs. In VF you get a turn or change after a good decision like a successful Evade, Guard, or countering a Grab with a Hit or Countering a Guard or Evade with a Grab, This literally makes the game turn based but you have to be quick to not lose that turn, Combos are simply ways to get the most out of your turn and get more damage. In my opinion VF is the easiest fighting game series to learn thanks to it's very simple to understand mechanics, fair balance, and easy inputs... Unless you play Akira, It's simply the most accessible fighting out there, when it comes to gameplay.

S.C.H 2.8 When he says it’s like chess, I think he is referring to the amount of viable options in an exchange. Of which overshadows that of any fighting game. Trying to explain the depth would be hard in words. It truly started with VF4. And personally i think it is the hardest to learn. Just not the most time consuming. Yes, it is important to learn matchups and strings of different characters. But it’s not all about that as it would be with Tekken or DOA. Instead it’s more so about learning the system and how to use your character within it. And look at the multiple different Tekken pros who state how VF is deeper/harder than Tekken. It’s not really fair to just look at the surface of the games mechanics. Because it’s not just about that. It’s about how many different moves you can execute effectively and efficiently in a situation. Compare a movelist of Virtua Fighter 5 to a movelist of any Tekken game. The movelist in Virtua Fighter are about 2 or 3 times the size. But the real difference is how many moves are viable. In Tekken, maybe 1/3 of the moves are actually viable at high level play. Where as in Virtua Fighter, all of the moves are there for a reason.
@OsumiVF3tb5 жыл бұрын
S.C.H 2.8 Also, Akira is one of the easiest characters to learn. He’s just a bit hard to understand at first. Chibita mastered Akira in less than a month. He has extremely easy to pull off combos(except in 4 lol). The hardest character to learn is probably Aoi or Eileen.

@Neonomide12 жыл бұрын
Blocking in VF is simply a "my turn" button since almost everything your opponent does gives him minus frames when blocked. Again, he has to guess wheter you lead P, interrupt (low Punch) or mid Punch to beat crouchers or throw from standing block. VF is amazingly simple and as such, is said to be the best fighting game this generation (check a very good Gamesradar review).

I’m so confused by this comment. Why is it here? What does it mean? Is he referring to shuns fighting style? Shun doesn’t do karate so I don’t think it would make sense. But even if he did, it’s not like the comment specifies if it’s actually even talking about shun. All it is is one word. You know what? I’m probably putting to much thought into this.
